jv16 1.7.0.398 consistently crashes on close and other prob

Vista32 Premium

I just upgraded to the new version and have the same or similar problem(s) as another post. The new version found several invalid file extensions that the previous version did not turn up. When I ran a 'fix' it removed all but 3 which failed with the following error. Also, jv17 now consistently crashes on closing. The 3 keys and respective errors below.

I went back to .394 - no errors and no crashes.

I also see the crash-on-close problem with .398 on Vista 32-bit.

Version 399 is now released, it should fix all the crashing problems introduced in 398.

Could you create a file called "DebugMode.dat" to the installation directory of the program (by default: c:\program files\jv16 PowerTools 2007\).

This will force the program to a debug mode and should produce a file called "DebugLog.txt" to your desktop when the program is run. If this happens, please send the contents of the DebugLog.txt here so I could try to figure out what causes the crash.

No "DebugLog.txt" file was produced, but the Windows 98 error dialog details are as follows.

Like Billearly, v399 won't run on my Win98SE machine. It runs fine on my XP machine. When I try to run v399, I get the "this program has performed an illegal operation" message. And like Billearl, I created a DebugMode.dat file in my jv16 folder but no DebutLog.txt file was created. There was also nothing in DebugMode.dat.

And finally like Billearl, the Windows error log is about the same:
