If anyone else has had this problem and found a 'fix', would you Please pass-it-on.

With earlier versions of jv16 Power Tools I could run a search in the "Registry Finder" tool for remnants of a program following an uninstall, and any registry files found could & would be deleted.

In jv16 PowerTools 2007 however, when I run a search using Registry Finder and files are found, when I select them for removel I get an Error in the lower panel stating:

Windows core returned the following error: "Access is denied"

followed by: a list of each file that I requested be deleted

followed by:

: All done! 0 B of data was removed

I'm confused by the above result and am asking for your help please.

If you're running Vista, then, using Explorer navigate to the jv16 PT program folder. Then Right-click on the jv16PT.exe file and under the compatability tab, select "Run this program as an administrator"

You are talking about Registry keys, and not files, right?

EDIT: now that I think about it, why don't you use the Registry Cleaner to find keys from uninstalled programs? That's what it's for, right? lol

If that doesn't find them, you should report it as it would be a bug.
