When I do Registry Clean JV16 uses 100% CPU
Just eyeballing the Task Manager's Performance tab, it doesn't seem to make much difference. It seemed to use perhaps a little less in the last 60% of the scan.
This was on XP Pro, win32K, with an HTT Processor.

Sorry but there is no such option in the Advaned Tab
Tullik is right...
And, it remains at 100% even 20-30 seconds after the reg clean scan has finished.
I´m on a freshly installed XP Media Center.

You shouldn't, because the version is not compatible with Vista x64, in fact, none of our products are at the moment.
But about the problem: well, registry scan is a very complex procedure, it analyzes a lot of data with numerous different algorithms. Only way to make it use less cpu is to make it slower. But, this is what I have now done, the "Use as little cpu power as possible" mode will in the next version use less cpu power but that also results in much slower scanning performance.
Evil_Psychiatrist wroteYes... but ticking that box doesnt help...

Evil_Psychiatrist wrote...The cpu load still gets to 100%, so u can´t work with other things
OK, what could you do for serious work in the meantime while registry cleaner is scanning? Normally that scan is done in a few minutes or less...

This improvement is included in the RegSupreme 1.7 RC2 which you can download at http://www.macecraft.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?p=11004

Hmmm... so? It didnt get much response did it? And the author ends his own thread with a happy "ahhhhh, within the Registry Cleaner utility, found it, thanks, I thought you were talking within the JV16 tool itself, thanks" despite this discovery doesnt help his initial query at all i practice. I think my reply makes perfectly logical sense and is not superfluous at all.
Well, u could check yr mail, diversify yr stockmarket portfolio, analyse a chessgame, unRAR a movie... alot of things. Not to mention fiddling around with different programs, trying out different things. Its probably best to run the regcleaner once a week while taking a break anyway, but not all of us do that... I might want to run it again and again and again just to find out a "what if" sceanario.

Thanks! I read about going from 2006 to 2007 was the biggest change concerning the regcleaner engine, but what was the motives to change it?

Improvement and development, I saw many things that could have been done better. And by better I mean to result a more profound and accurate results to the user.
