I have found that when I run the Registry Cleaner, normal or aggressive, that it wipes out the indexing information, and selection of items to index, in the Windows Desktop Search. It only takes a few seconds to reselect, and a few minutes to rebuilt, but I was wondering if anyone has the needed exclude? I have looked through the items found, but it seems to be one of those cryptic ones which is not readily identifiable.

After some trial and error, I was able to localize the problem to the HKey_local_machine scan. If you put

HistoryHashMapFile

DocIdMapFile

in the ignore words list, it retains the program settings properly.

Same problem I have. Thanks for the information. I'll add that key to the ignore list.
