JV16 Power Tools Trial version baffling me.

I was ready to purchase when I saw the features in the command interface, but when I tried some of them nothing actually happens to the registry. I can select items, then click on delete but then I search for the same item again it will still be there. the registry remains unchanged as far as I can determine.

Vista is new to me is there something different about the Vista Registry that you have to deal with in order to delete or change registry items.

The registry is essentially the same, but Vista Windows does very extensive checking of access control rights.

Have you tried this suggestion from the developer?

Thank you very much. I was simply logging in as administrator and Clicking Yes when prompted by the UAC stuff. I haven't checked yet to see if the desktop shortcut can be set to run as administrator. I have few things to learn yet in order to get along with Vista :

I right click the desktop shortcut and clicked "run as administrator." That worked fine. Is there a way to set it permanently or is that the way to do it?

BTW -- what a nice program. I have seen enough, I will be purchasing.

jv has said somewhere in the Beta Test Forum that he intends to make the upcoming PT 2007 automatically get the necessary administrator rights.

BTW, he has also said PT 2007 will be free to users who have purchased a PT 2006 license.

That's correct, with PT 2007 you don't have to use the Right-Click method under Vista.
