same report over again

Whenever I run the Registry Cleaner I get the popup box Registry Cleaner Scan Report.

Severity of scanned errors shows 180. The system health indicator shows 1/100. I close the box and then tell it to remove them all. I then run the program again and get the same error again! Why is this?

They also show the Install location as:

\\?\C:\$WINDOWS.~LS\PackageTemp\68339f52-ddc8-40be-95bd-57fd70f4adfa\

Vista Windows does very extensive checking of access control rights. As a result, Vista denies more operations than prior versions of Windows.

Have you tried this suggestion from the developer (jv)?

If that doesn't work, try Jv16 Power Tools 2007 Release Candidate 1. jv has said elsewhere in the Forum that RC1 will be available later this month.

This post might serve as a workaround for the problem.

Except, of course, for PT2007 (or PT2006), you would use the Registry Cleaner tool window's "Ignore words tab."

rc1, registry cleaner is not cleaning, finds problem but does not remove it

also within the last little while program stops responding, works again on a close and reopen? do not remember having this problem before

RC1 is in beta test and such problems have been reported. You might read this RC1 topic in the Beta testing Forum ...
