Hi,

sorry I'm a complete novice at registry issues and don't really want to blow access to my PC.

I have a specific problem on attempting to install software principally relating to ODBC, I gather it's something to do with the registry. One particular error describes itself as:

Error 1919.Error configuring ODBC data source

Hermes_Corona, ODBC error 6: Component not found

in the registry. Verify that the file Hermes_Corona

exists and that you can access it.

I'm running WinXP preinstalled on an Acer Ferrari laptop, AMD Turion64 processor (although Win is 32 bit) and 1 Gig of RAM.

If RegSupreme doesn't restore registrys does anyone out there know of software that does?

Thanks,

David.

That particular type error is likely to be one (or both) of these

  • 1. the install process did not install the file correctly

    2. the install process has an error in its registration scripts

A registry restore will not fix these problems.

I suggest you do a web search on:

  • 1. the software product name

    2. the software developer company name

    3. the file name

    4. a key part of the error message (such as "ODBC error 6: Component not found

    in the registry")

    5. combinations of the above
