I have 16 high severity errors each of which exists because a file doesn't exist. Although PT 2006 is ostensibly removing the cause of these errors, each one, in fact, remains.

Attempts to manually delete the offending keys using RegEdit are not permitted.

How might I get rid of these keys?

Some registry keys can not be removed because the currently logged in user has not "permissions" to modify or delete that key. Some keys will not allow any user to modify or delete them.

So you will have to edit the key's Access Control List (ACL).

How to manage that, you can find here (click on that link : )

What happens if you make (full) permissions for the newly added name of your user account?

You will find that exact name at the start page of your user accounts.
