Hi,
Apologies if this has already been discussed. First, I should perhaps say that I wouldn't mind if JV 16 "lost" some features - I use it mainly for computer hygiene and maintenance. However, it would sometimes be useful for me if I could easily mass rename files by adding a suffix immediately before the file extension. I already have a tool that does this (also used for file affixes and extension changes - not much use made of its other features). Though I have used JV 16 for some mass renames, there are things that I've never been able to do with this function.
I lke "lean, mean, dedicated tools", which seems to be the opposite of the way many applications are going. There is thus some overlap between what JV 16 can do and what I use other tools for. In this connection, I don't know if JV 16 can be used to strip Internet Explorer .dat files of their contents. If it does/could, this would enable me to remove another "more dedicated" tool from my box.
Best regards,
Stavkirke
