OS is XP Home, with Service Pack 2.

I've just downloaded the evaluation version of JV16 PowerTools 2006, and in trying the various Registry management & backup functions, find that my computer crashes (and then reboots) each time. This also happens when I do a manual Registry Export, so it may not be a JV issue. However, I thought I'd report it in case you have a suggestion.

Thanks!

Thanks!

Do a right click on your My Computer icon, then select Properties-->Advanced tab-->Startup and Recovery Settings button, then uncheck "Automatically Restart."

When it crashes again, you should get a blue screen of death instead of a reboot. Perhaps info on the BSOD will help you search for a possible cause.

I followed your suggestion to shut off auto reboot; JV16 is suddenly running fine. So the problem lies elsewhere, I got a STOP message on the BSOD and will follow that up.

Thanks!!
