I've PT 2006. About the registry cleaner (that it seems to work fine)...

I observed the most invalid entries are deleted and not repaired. It looks to be a drastic solution. Maybe it would be useful to provide a possible solutions analyzer and so to let the user choose among them? Sometimes there's a wrong link it should be properly corrected instead of deleting it.

In case a registry entries modification could crash the system, I think it could be useful an option permitting PT2006 to easily restore a previous registry state at system startup (before Xp gui). This option can be chosen before cleaning process. Also it would be interesting to get a PT2006 dos application, I can install on a floppy o a pendrive, to recover PT2006 backups.

What do you think about? :)

About defrag feature. It will be present on PT2007. I read (or I think to have read) the posts about this new feature. But - as far as I know - I didn't find anything about the defragmentation process quality. Well, we know that the most defragmenting softwares have a bad behaviour with the space interstices among file blocks on the disk. The fragmented files blocks are left fragmented if space interstices are smaller than those blocks are.

Then here there are some questions:

What's the behaviour with space interstices of PT2007 defragmenter?

Does it defragment in idle priority as well?

What's its behaviour with system files?

Can I choose what to defragment (also at bootup): system, pagefile, disk, Mft, etc?

Does it start as a service?

Thanks for the answer. :)

Using JV16 Power Tools 2006, Start Menu Fixer:

I get a message that:

"XXX" is pointing to "C:\Location A......" which doesn't exist. Would you like to change the shortcut to point to"C:\Location B......"?

Yes No Cancel

Would you please consider another button called "Remove"?

Thanks,

Tom

The entire Start Menu Fixer will be rewritten and this feature is also added.
