jv16pt mysteriously closes

Hi everyone.... I have a problem with jv16 powertools that I just can't resolve. Jv16 (latest release) was working fine up until a few days ago.

Now, when my mouse pointer hovers over the "Registry Monitor" icon, the

program mysteriously closes (no mouse clicks). I've tried opening it with both it's keyboard shortcut, and it's command line option, with the same symptom. A fresh re-boot, a new reinstall, nor a regcleaning resolved the problem. I'm stumped. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

Please try to uninstall the product and then reinstall. You may copy your backup folder to another directory before uninstalling and then copy it back after reinstall, this way you won't lose any of your backups.

Thank you for the reply. I uninstalled jv16pt, searched and deleted all references in the registry, then reinstalled jv16pt. It did not eliminate the problem. I then agressively regcleaned with the newly installed jv16pt. No change.

This problem is unique to the "Registry Monitor". None of the other jv16pt icons are affected. JV16 Power Tools was the last program installed, and the problem was not there. The problem appeared sometime after I used the 'Master File Table (MFT) Defragmentation' function of 'Diskeeper 2007 Professional'. I've already tried disabling various running programs and processes to see if there were any memory conflicts. I can provide any system information if it will help solve this mystery. The problem has gone away... some how!. I installed the new Internet Explorer 7 but experienced system slowdown, freezeups, and several other problems. When I uninstalled IE 7, which rolled my system back to IE 6, I noticed that the problem vanished. I don't understand, but I'm happy.
