recover registry when Windows can't start anymore

I bought RegSupreme Pro some weeks ago, but I haven't used it yet, because I'm still wondering this:

imagine somehow RegSupreme Pro makes a mistake when cleaning the registry and Windows can't start anymore, how can I put a copy of my registry back onto my computer? Is there any easy way for doing that?

NB: It is quite important for me to be able to put back the registry in some way, because I've got a OEM-version of Windows XP, which means I have NO installation-cd since it was already installed on my computer when I bought it.

The only thing I have is a master-cd: an image-cd of my hard-disk, which is nog the best thing, since using it would put back my computer in the original state without all program's and updates I downloaded ever since...

I don't know for sure, but i think you can use regedit.exe in the Windows XP Recovery Console. (When booting with an Windows XP CD, including copy's).

Any MaceCraft product creates backups of the stuff they change/remove.

Thisway you should be able to restore those backups from the Recovery Console.

Or you can try to just boot in Safe-mode wich will work most of the time, and then put those entries back.

Also, i never ever had any problems with booting after any cleaning with Macecraft software.

Why don't you make a backup image of your entire hard drive so you don't have to worry so much?

Also, most of those Recovery CD's have an option to restore windows only and leave the documents and software as-is.

This procedure wil partitaly fix/repair the registry and broken files so that Windows should start again.

I Have done this very much with DELL, Compaq, HP, Packerd Bell etc... so that shouldn't be a problem also.

OK, I took the risk of letting RegSupreme clean my registry:

it worked very well indeed!!
