JV 2007 disk defragmenting option (use/not use)

Hi,

Since I use set it and forget it from diskeeper (diskeeper Pro 10: best disk defragmenter tool) I would like to have the option in JV 7 (best tool for several other matters) to put defragmenter in a hold position (not loading for example or loading but not running). Is that possible in either way?

Of course, you don't have to use the PT 2007's disk defragmenter if you don't want to.

Will the new jv16 2007 defragmenter also defrag the pagefile?

Uhm, why waste time developing a disk defragmenter tool for jv16? PerfectDisk, O&O Defrag and Diskeeper are excellent alternatives to the 5 year old Windows standard! PerfectDisk is at v7.0.46 right now but v8.0.30 will be released on the 12th. It has options that no other defragmenter has.

If jv16 wants to make a brand new feature, make a registry defragmenter. I currently use NT Registry Optimizer but if jv16 can code one that outperforms it, that would be great. I am shocked jv16 would even consider bothering with a disk defragmenter with the *awesome* alternatives out there...

jv16 PowerTools 2006 already contains a registry defragmenter called Registry Compactor : http://www.macecraft.com/pt2006/registry_compactor/

I'm sure many people said there's no point in creating a registry cleaner after Microsoft released its registry cleaner called RegClean. That was in the late 1990's.

The reason why jv16 PowerTools 2007 contains a disk defragmenter is simple: I wish to allow people to use a good disk defragmenter for a very affordable price. I don't think there is enough competition in the field of disk defragment software, that's also why I wanted PT 2007 also to contain one. Perhaps it forces the big players of the field to drop their prices.

Yes I agree totally with Jv ; this disc defragmenter is absolutely excellent; shows a lot of usefull information while other programs do'nt anf let you customize the defragmentation almost the way you want ; he is also right about the comparison betwenne regclean from Microsoft and Recleaner tool in Jv 16 PT ; this tool is excellent; there are drawbacks but I am not going to repeat myself .OLIVIER GEBUHRER

Well this my be true, but I own Perfectdisk, and really like jv16 feature rich program, and a defragmenter would make it a perfect all in 1 tool.. I betaed jv 16 2006, and I glad to see this feature added
