RegSupreme Pro 1.4 RC1

An update for RegSupreme Pro is coming soon, here's the RC1 beta version of it:

The changes are mainly minor improvements in stability and performance, double clicking an entry now opens it with RegEdit and other such small things. The new version also contains the new registry cleaning engine of PT 2006.

You can install this version over any previous versions of RegSupreme Pro, or you can install it to another directory if you wish to continue to use the old version of RegSupreme Pro.

I ran the beta to clean the registry but it's not removing entries even though it says it is. Even after reboot it finds the same registry errors.

Running on Windows XP Pro x64.

Comment on progress indicators. It's great seeing that progress is being made during the cleaning but I think there are too many progress indicators:

a progress dialog box with progress bar

a screen scroll showing stuff being repaired

in lower left corner a numbered progress that doesn't really indicate any useful information

I think with less progress indicators the clean up would be quicker.

will this new version include/contain all the registry features and tools from PowerTools 2006?! :?

Because it's the PRO version and is designed and intended to be for the more advanced users (experienced) and experts..!

RegSupreme Pro (and only Pro) should include:

- Software Manager

- Startup Manager

- Registry Manager

- Registry Cleaner

- Registry Finder

- Registry Find & Replace

- Registry Compactor and

- Registry Information

Optional is Registry Monitor.

These are strict Registry maintenance tools and features, which should be available and featured by RegSupreme for Professionals! :

I don't see any replies to our posts describing a serious BUG in Registry Cleaner of RegSupreme Pro RC1 :

We (jothee and myself) noticed Registry Cleaner seems not to clean anything :?

This problem is now fixed, thank you for reporting. The next released version will contain the fix in question.

This version keeps cleaning the same things over and over again. Do you mean the fix won't appear until the finished version and I'm to expect this repetition in the meantime?

Reg supreme pro keeps finding the same errors. Says it fixs it, but then find them again, an again.

If I run the latest beta version of just RegSupreme, it fixes the same errors without any problem.

Hmm. That's strange. I don't notice any change in my RegSupreme Pro. It's been doing a great job forever. It's the new test beta that keeps listing the same items over and over. I wonder if it's really getting rid of anything at all.

The RC1's Registry Cleaner's Fix and Delete buttons don't work, it's a bug. As I said, the bug will be fixed in the next released version (RC2) which will be out in next week.

I'm having a few problems I had with the last beta. A setting in my DVD Shrink was changed: I had it set to load the iso to the hard drive and it changed it to being sent to a program I don't even use anymore. Also, in ImgBurn the burn speed was changed and "save log" was unchecked whereas it had been checked. I'm sure these were caused by the beta.

I'm not positive the following problems were caused by the beta, but I hardly ever have any trouble with my computer and I've had a bunch in the last day or so. I thought it would be better to tell you about them than not since it might help you with your new version of RegSupremePro. Here goes....

*Easy CD-DA Extractor came out with a newer version and I was asked to uninstall the old version before installing the new one. When I tried, I got this message:

Invalid Uninstall Control file: C:\Program Files\Easy CD-DA Extractor 9\irunin.xml

So I tried to go to my Programs Files and just delete the whole file for the Extractor. That didn't work either. I got a notice saying the Load Library failed - The specific module couldn't be found.

I was told by the "Easy" people to go to Start, Run, regsvr32 and delete the program files for the extractor. I wasn't able to do that until I went into safe mode.

*I was having trouble clicking on links within emails so I contacted some support people and was told to enter six commands in my "Run" program. Two of them (regsvr32 Urimon.dll and regsvr32 shdoc401.dll) didn't work and I got the "Load Library Failed" notice again.

*I went to the Windows Update page and was told I couldn't get any updates because I didn't have administrative rights. That has never happened before. The support people at Protonic.com told me to run a sfc /scannow. That didn't work either. I kept getting asked to insert my XP Professional disc and I couldn't do that because I have XP Home Edition. I then contacted the Tech Support Guys and was told I could go to Start, Run, type in explorer and change some things around to solve the problem. I typed in explorer and My Documents window popped up. I'm still working on this one.....

Like I said, I'm not sure these problems were caused by the beta, but it sure seems like it since I usually don't have problems, much less so many.

I'm going to restore (I hope that works) all the beta back-ups but I've saved them in case you want me to send them to you. If you do, I'll need some help on how to do that. In my program files the beta back-ups have the Windows Media Player icon next to them and when I click to open them the WMP opens up. Strange. I would need to know how to copy the list of found files after the beta scan since I don't know how to do that.

Thanks. I appreciate that you're going to all this trouble to come up with an even better RegSupremePro. That dedication is why you have the best products on the market. There are none better.
