I have trouble running software with a limited user account. For example, common software such as disc burning, camera software, a label creator, etc, require an admin account to function, but I cannot surf nor let my kids indiscriminately install programs. Roxio support told me their software requires a user account with admin priveleges. I found that I can run Roxio etc under a limited account if I manually adding user priveleges to the registry entries. You seem to understand the registry and could fix this common problem easier then I did by hand. I fixed it by searching the registry for Roxio and adding user permissions to those keys. For other software, I took a snapshot of the registry before and after installation to identify the registry keys to add permissions. Some software added hundreds of registry entries. I'd accept a license if you think this is a good idea for a new product feature. Thanks.

Why don't you just start the computer with your limited user account and then use the Run As feature to run e.g. Roxio? (Right Click the software's icon, select Run as and run the program as admin).

I can use the "run as" when logged onto a limited accout, but then I would have to share an admin password with the users of the limited account for them to download pictures from the camera, burn a cd, use an old encyclopedia, and run other programs. Windows XP is funny with permissions. Many programs install so that only an admin has permission to run them. There is a registry permission fix, but the hand editing is tedious. A registry fixer would be nice. Thanks.
