The program JV 16PT 2006 also stalls on my machine. My various attempts to sort out the problem have yielded various results. The following is a representative breakdown of the separate attempts to run the program:
Invoking the program thru the start menu icon or the quick start icon results in the main window appearing but not always being useable. There have been times when certain Power Tools worked but the registry cleaner would always stall, and the entire suite of programs became non responsive.
At other times using any tool would result in the program stalling.
I did discover that sometimes the program menu could be accessed and then the "settings" menu invoked. If the "flush the cache" button under the maintenance tab was activated and the program was closed and restarted then after the cache reset screen every tool would work for that session.
I also discovered that chosing to run the program under "run as" could get the program running for a single session.
One fact is certain, each time the cache is reset the program works for at least one session.
Also, the cache reset screen is accompanied with a progress bar that never indicates activity.
I'll apologize that my experiments were not rigourously controlled but I do hope that this information aides in finding an agreeable solution.
