I too had the same problem, the program froze the 1st time it was run. Had to alt/ctrl/delete and end task. 1st I uninstalled by using the one listed in start>all programs>Reg Surpreme>unistall. Installed once again and still froze. This time I unistalled using the control panel add and remove programs. I also deleted the directory in C:\Program Files manually. Then again installed the program and worked fine.

I have XP pro with all updates

I use Windows Live OneCare (beta) for my antivirus and firewall

I installed and ran the beta program, and then found like 4000+ items on the regular scan. I fixed them all and then rebooted. After rebooting, it entirely destroyed my fonts, removing them all and giving me a bunch of symbols in place of the English words that should have been there. There wasn't a single word or letter anywhere on screen. It looked like wingdings was everywhere, but it was mostly placeholder boxes and question marks and other weird symbols. I had to get another computer to run RegSupreme to see how to restore backups. Restoring it fixed it. I did notice that on the list of items scanned, that two fonts were listed. I know one of them was "Arial Bold" but I can't recall what the other was (at work atm). If you need more info, I can give it after I get home.

I also ran it on another PC to see what would happen, and it deleted the functionality of the programs area of the start bar. Not only did it delete the computer's start->programs menu, it made it not work to make new ones or drag anything into it. Searching revealed a few of the program folders remained, but the majority of them had been deleted. In this instance, restoring the backups did not repair the problem. I had to use a Windows Defender restore point to fix the program portion of the startbar.

Needless to say, the glowing reviews I read on tweaksrus.com didn't exactly convey how much trouble the scan could cause. The first PC didn't have the startbar problem, and the 2nd pc didn't have the screwed up font problem.

Both run Win XP SP2, fully updated thru Windows Update.

I'm sorry but I can't believe this, the RegSupreme only deletes registry entries, it never deletes files or folders.

Because of the previous comments, I did not install RC2 over RC1. Instead, I used Add/Remove to first uninstall RC1 before installing RC2. Please note, however, that this process removed all backups created while using RC1. This may be as designed, but some other programs do not remove data files or backups when uninstalling the program. I may have missed it, but did not note any alert stating that this would happen and would welcome either such an alert or an uninstallation process that retains prior backups in case they must be restored. Thanks.

Actually wmhb114 I'm pleased you mentioned this as I've been meaning to request this feature for ages and have always forgotten to mention it.

With PT, RS & RS Pro this has always been the case after an uninstall.

I soon realised I had to backup the Backups directory prior to an uninstall but it is so easy to forget to do this.

Have run RC2 normal scan, fix and restore from backup and all worked properly. RC2 did not have the problem that I saw in RC1 where a core group of reportedly invalid entries continued to persist after running the fix command.

RC 1.4.0.40 RC2:

On my first computer it ran fine. Computer boots up a LOT faster now.

On 2nd comp it killed my fonts. All fonts have vanished, system font is set to some symbol looking thing. Pulling up fonts in control panel, shows no fonts installed. Even in safe mode the bad font persists. Font issue is in safe mode too. I was able to get back to normal with system restore. This issue is repeatable, running regsupreme a 2nd time with non-agressive did the same thing.

I too faced issues with installation over Reg Supreme 1.4 RC1.

RC2 froze. Could only close RC2 with Ctl At Del. I finally unistalled RC2, completed a fresh reinstallation which worked correctly and beautifully.

I have Win XP. Reg sup 1.4 RC 2. Using Norton Antivirus 11.0.16.4

RC2 appeared to run faster than first version.

RC2 found 295 entries of various registry issues under the Normal mode.

RC2 found 601 entries of various registry issues under the Aggressive mode.

I personaly found this identification level under the Aggressive mode difficult to understand. Future release candidates should offer more information to simplify the purging / correction of Registration Keys. A colour coded triage process may help identify quickly the Keys which may safely removed from the the list. (Green: Safe, Yellow: Caution, Red: Risky).

I will Test Out the removal in the Normal Mode first to see how the system reacts. :|

Once the scan is done and I've checked "fix," the number of items fixed and number of items deleted don't add up to the original number of items found. For instance, tonight it found 133 worthless items. After I clicked on "fix" I was told that 43 items had been fixed and 33 had to be eliminated.

Otherwise, everthing seems to be working great.

After making an image of my computer's C: partition, I used RegSupreme to remove 2965 invalid items found. So far, my computer has not had any problems as a result of that removal.
