RegSupreme 1.4 RC2

An update for RegSupreme is coming soon, here's the RC2 beta version of it:

You can install this version over any previous versions of RegSupreme, or you can install it to another directory if you wish to continue to use the old version of RegSupreme.

Window opens and then freezes. Nothing will work and the window can only be removed by using ctrl/alt/delete.

I must say that this version works very well.

I have scanned the reg a couple of times with good results.

Also the Norwegian translation is well done.

One question though.

The norwegian word for advanced is not "dyp" as that means deep.

But it's a very good transelation that's easy to understand.

As reported by others..Installed RC2 over previous version. Opens and then freezes requires alt-ctl-del to stop. XP Home Service Pack 2, 2G ram, 1.99 GHz - Uninstalled, and reinstalled fresh. Program opened and began to run ok.

Immediately before running RegSupreme 1.4 RC2, I cleaned my Windows 2000 registry with Registry Mechanic 5.2 -- which found 31 invalid items. I then scanned the same registry with RegSupreme in Normal mode, and it found 2965 invalid items. I then scanned with same registry with RegSupreme in Aggressive mode, and it found 3357 invalid items. Obviously there is a large difference between Registry Mechanic and RegSupreme!

In a few days, I will be making an image of my computer's C: partition, and after than I will experiment more aggressively by actually removing the invalid items found by RegSupreme.

Normal scan found 7623! Selected 4 as trial. Went ok. Would like a progress bar as I became impatient. Required new scan to remove more. Tried fixing 25-30 and got error:

Access violation at 0043F37B in module RegSupreme.exe Read of address: 00000026 - closed ok.

Repeated, selecting "one" and received same error.

D/L and installed RegSupreme RC2 over RC1. When I started program, window opened and froze. Took Cont/Alt/Delete to close program.

Uninstalled and cleaned up registry with JVTools registry cleaner and re-installed. Seems to be working OK at this time. Have to assume cannot install over RC1. Hope this info is helpful.

As reported by others..Installed RC2 over previous version. Opens and then freezes requires alt-ctl-del to stop. Windows 98SE, nSP 2.1, 52 MB RAM, PIII 1.3GB - Uninstalled, and reinstalled fresh. Program opened and began to run ok.

Mine also locked up after installing over the top. I uninstalled and reinstalled the new rc2 and everything is working fine now. WinXP PRO Dell GX110

Here are some stats that I found interesting. With RC1 the first time I ran it (aggressive mode) it cleaned 3118 keys, and a day later an additional 470.

I ran RC2 in aggressive mode and it found 297, it corrected 9 and removed 135. Thats 144 out of 297. So I ran it again and it found 26 keys and the fix removed 26 keys. On the third run it found 4 keys but they were all the mru so no problem. Still don't know what happened to the other 127 keys.

So far, including the previous cleanings under RC1, I have had no problems. This is my primary system at work, so it gets a lot of use.

I downloaded and installed. After I click fix i gett a pop up window that says "Access violation at address 0043F37B in module 'RegSupreme.exe'. Read of address 00000027." Other than that everything works fine.

Installed RC2 over RC1. It won't run just presents a "dead" window. Had to close by going to the task bar and clicking close on the RegSupreme button.

Reinstalled RC1 which ran okay.

Then tried RC2 again but encountered the same problem.

There were no error messages.

I did install over old version. I am using XP. Anti virus is E-trust EZ. Have now uninstalled and reinstalled. It now works OK and has found 171 invalid items.

After my previous post I uninstalled RC! and then installed RC2.

All okay. The problem was installing RC2 over RC1.

I'm having trouble removing RC1. It's not in any of my Add/Remove programs and if I try to remove the icon it tells me I need to use the Add/Remove program to remove the whole works. I have My Uninstaller and it supposedly lists all the software but doensn't list RC1. I installed it seperately - not over my RegSupremePro. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Same problem here JackD when I installed over RC1, had to ctrl + alt + del to get out of the programme. Uninstalled and did a clean install of RC2, working fine now.

Not sure if you fixed the bug i brought up jv16, but it now appears with rc2 its reporting the correct # of invalid items during the scan and then the final results. So that appears to be okay now. Other then that so far havent found anything that needs a fix.
