Help just installed jv16 2006

I have had JV 2005 some time. I have updated today MIN MAX button does NOT fuctioning. Does anyone know how to get it to work.

I suppose you refer to the main PT window. PT 2006 no longer supports the Max button there (it is really pointless for the main window). The Min button should work ... does it?

What you show is just what the "Help...License information...License tool" window displays. Looks good to me ...

Again, does the Min button work?

It is stuck in MIN and cannot be changed. Not a major problem BUT.

I'm not sure what you mean by "stuck in MIN," but if you can see all 23 icons in the main window, the problem is small, as you say.

You can resize that window by clicking on a corner with the left mouse button, holding it, and dragging the window to a different size ... PT remembers the last size when you start it again (most of the time).

I have tried to move it as soon as I upgraded. It will only move sidesways not down.

The min max square is dead just gray.

I haven't seen or heard of a case where the PT 2006 main window minimize button is grayed out. Perhaps someone else knows what may be causing that.

You should mention your OS and memory size ... that might provide a clue ...

I have XP professional and 960 Megabytes Installed Memory.

What items do you get when you right-click on the 'jv16 PowerTools 2006' taskbar button?

It should atleast have minimize there.

Also, check try to press alt+space, there should be poping-up an menu now. There should stand minimize also.

If not, it could be that there is some program active on the background which disables this for some strange reason.

I have tested it on my laptop and dekstop computer.

Both are just working fine.

If any bits got flipped (corrupted) somewhere in the PT program during download or installation or whatever, it could account for the symptom you noticed ... unlikely (?) -- but such things do happen ...

If the greyed out Minimize button remains a nuisance for you, you could download a fresh copy of PT v.1.5.2.338 -- only takes a minute with a fast connection. Just install over the same folder you use now -- Backups, Settings, and so forth will remain as they are, unaffected by the new install.

The problem might just go away ...
