fact: jv16pt.2006 reg.cleaner found almost 15,000 (fifteen thousand) reg errors (health status 1/100), normal scans with normal mode

vs. 2005 with 4 errors (100/100 health)

Is this possible? And on which version should I rely?

Details:

jv16pt.2006 is installed in a new dir

ver 2005 still exists in its own dir

windows 2003, almost 3 years old installation, regularly cleaned with both regsupreme and jv16

Any help is welcome!

Do most of the errors have an "Entry name" starting with HRZR_ and an "Error description" of "File or directory "path" does not exist"?

If so, it is possible. Jv16Pt v.1.5.2.338 is fine and does find more errors. Look here for more information.

The original poster in that thread (jonm) had over 140,000 "errors" but is apparently in denial. He hasn't replied since May 26 when he found a registry cleaner that reported fewer items.

You have an order of magnitude fewer items, so it shouldn't take hours to remove them with Registry Cleaner. If I had as many RC lines as you do, I would sort on the "Error description" column (for example) and remove in groups of, say, 1000 to 3000 at a time instead of all at once. Your call ...

yes, exactly, with "high" error severity status

p.s. link checked, 10x, I've begun fixing them but such a quantity takes time

ps2: I intend to defrag the reg (never done this before) with registry compactor but I am a little afraid about such intervention (a reg save is compulsory I guess)
