I've been trialing RegSupreme 1.3 for the past week or so, and I like it so far.

One thing, though, is that it tends to flag some specific items repeatedly....after a program that I use is opened. I can remove the "obsolete" entries, but the next time that I open the program, and then run RegSupreme afterwards....the exact same entries are flagged.

I don't see any "ignore" option.....but perhaps I haven't looked close enough. And if there is no "Ignore" option....then that is something that I feel MUST be incorporated into a good registry cleaner.

Can someone please share some more insight and info on this....whether I've just missed the option, and/or if there isn't one, if that will be incorporated into a future release?

For RegSupremePro 1.2, in the "Data" directory, there is a file named "Default IgnoreList.dat" which can be edited with notepad.

Perhaps RegSupreme 1.3 has a similar arrangement? Have a look.

Thanks for the reply and your help, tullik.

When I open the RegSupreme folder, I see the file you're referring to....and when I double click to open it, I get the following:

I'm guessing that I should choose "Select the program from a list", and select Notepad.....but I'm curious, will it be pretty self-explanatory how to add an entry (or multiple entries)? I looked in the "Help" documentation, but nothing was listed for this. I then looked through the FAQ, and found this:

Q: The program always removes certain entries I would like to keep. Is there a way to ignore entries?

A: Yes. You can edit the \Data\Default IgnoreList.dat file. RegSupreme will ignore all found entries which contain some of the keywords found from this file.

So apparently there IS a way to do this, I'm just curious if it is self-explanatory how to add an entry to "ignore", once I have made certain that Notepad will, in fact, open the file.....

Some time ago, I used the window you showed to permanently set notepad to open double-clicked .dat files.

The RegSupremePro Default IgnoreList.dat file looks like this:

.hta

.htc

default.hta

Boot

CachePath

I386

OldWinBootDir

//Misc items:

Incredimail

PainShopPro

Paint Shop

PSP8

//Added items:

office11

Apparently it just uses the string on a line when matching. For example, the one I added appears within a path, causing about 200 items to not show.

I still think that implementing an easier option to "Ignore specific entries" for the user would be a good idea....even if it was something like a radio button (in the area where "Fix" is located), or a "right-click" and select "Always Ignore" from the entry being flagged. This would make the product much more attractive and easy to use for people who don't want to go "searching for files inside of folders, and then copy and paste entries"........ :|

That would indeed be a good idea.

In fact such a feature plus other ignore capabilities are implemented in jv16PT 2006.

I actually use that product. The license I bought in 2005 for Power Tools includes the use of RegSupremePro which I occasionally use out of curiousity.

Before upgrading in 2005, I had a license for the "Legacy Product - PowerTools 1.4.1." Its ignore capabilities are no better than those in RegSupremePro or RegSupreme.
