When I run this test ----> 2 threads start (Hkey_Current_user & MRU), the lower Hkey(MRU) thread ends quickly (5 to 10 seconds) and then the loop starts. This is true for both Hkey_Current_user & Hkey_User with all the lower Hkey's. (Hopefully I understood your request correctly)

You understood correctly if by "lower Hkey's" you meant "lower scans."

Since it loops so early in both HKCU and HKUS, I guess those tests won't let us narrow it down.

Are there any lines in the RC window when you run these? If so, try to click on the last line. Then copy and paste the six data elements from the top panel into a post here. You have to do it one at a time, Error severity through Entry last modified. We are after the strings to the right of the descriptive words, not the descriptive words on the left.

Hi, All!

I've increased virtual memory size to 3GB and narrowed scan only to C drive by editing FileCache.dat with Notepad:

Created=38810.7873177083

MaxAge=15

LastAsked=38810.7872829861

c=True

d=False

h=False

Then I've flashed the cache for couple of times. And after all of this started Reg Cleaner, opened Process Explorer to control virtual size of memory and JV16 hunged up, just frozen completely. Process Explorer has shown 2.5 GB while peak level for the memory shown 650MB.

I don't know what to do next to get work. Reg Cleaner 2005 works just fine without any problems.

Please, advise!

With member krese1, I believe we have confirmed that a bug exists in PT 2006 Registry Cleaner (and possibly Registry Information). See the thread starting here: http://www.macecraft.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?p=4461#4461

It apparently is triggered only by the registry of some people. You may be one of the unlucky few.

We are currently awaiting guidance (and/or a fix) from the developer.

Some parts of the PT 2006 use a new performance optimized registry crawler component. These parts are: Registry Cleaner, Registry Info and Registry Monitor. Other tools don't yet use it.

I'm rather sure this is the root cause of the problem, the new registry crawler component has bug that on some rare cases makes it stuck on some infinite loop.

I'll try to find the bug and fix it, the next released version should fix the problem.

I've install JV16 version 1.5.2.332(jv16pt_setup_test.exe) but still got the same results-Apllication takes too much virtual memory~2.5GB nad makes loops.

Hi, Guys!

I've tried to install this version but Reg Cleaner hangs again, same results as with previous version. Only one thing I've noticed - Registry Cleaner starts to loop when number of threads becomes 1. So, I mean it starts with 7 or 8 threads and then when it counts to 1 thread- that's the point when it starts to make a loop or hangs completely. I had to kill the process.

Please, advise!
