XP-SP3 and W7 x86 with v2.0.0.996(beta4c):

File Tools -> File Recovery -> search in c:\ for .pdf files -> Undelete 1st file -> Undelete 2nd file -> Undelete 3rd file ->

-> only close the File Recovery window -> Windows Task Manager shows that task jv16PT-beta4c keeps using 50% of my dual core processor.

Only closing of jvPT16-beta4c will end this 'processing loop'.

Version 2.0.0.996 with x64 Windows 7

Registry Manager Add/Remove menu list has several apparent duplicate lines. They are not "real" duplicates since each one comes from a different key. Note: this bug confuses the Tag System since tagging just one of these lines also places the tag in its apparent duplicates. Awaiting developer response.

These are the apparent duplicates on my system. The first and last ones show the key obtained via "Open in RegEdit":

In Startup Manager, Tag Editor places unwanted tags on lines not selected. Still happens in v.2.0.0.996. Work underway to fix.

Startup Manager: an "Old" tag is placed on all 21 lines of a list. However, "TagSystem.dat" only has 17 line tags after the operation. Still happens in v.2.0.0.996. Work underway to fix.

The above bugs likely occur because of "N/A" in the Description column.

My Software Uninstaller results list contains 33 line items.

All 33 are more or less represented in the Programs and Features control panel.

26 are exact or very close matches.

5 show a probably incorrect "Software" or "Main Executable."

2 are outright bugs (Main Executable duplicated on another line).

These significant items in the Programs and Features control panel are missing altogether in the Software Uninstaller results list:

1. Start the 'Startup Manager' and wait till the scan list is displayed, than close the 'Startup Manager'.

2. In the same session of jv16PT-beta4c re-start the 'Startup Manager'. The result is an empty display window.

The issue is now fixed, thank you for reporting! The same issue applied to many tool windows.

Tag System: some ways to increase the odds of generating a unique line hash:

In Registry Manager-->Add/Remove menu:
- Add a "Found from key" column and include it in the hashing input.
In Startup Manager:
- Instead of placing "N/A" in the "Description" column, use the "Program" column string (OK),
  
  or
  
  include the "Filename" column string in the hashing input (BETTER),
  
  or
  
  add a "Loaded from key" column and include it in the hashing input (even better, but probably overkill).

I haven't seen any duplicate line hash issues in other tool lists (so far, anyway).

I am only taking a modest part in the beta testing, but now it is up to the developer(jv16). Let us wait for his response.

This issue is now fixed, thank you for reporting! The tool should not list items with such binary data.

According to the Debug Logs, the crash occurs with an older version of the product. Does the problem also occur with the latest version?

Thank you JV16:

I am not sure why or how that happened. I copied the Bugreport from PT's folder and zipped it. Is this something that ocurrs or is it something I did not do properly?

Do I need to try sending it again?? Please excuse my questions as I am totally new to your beta testing process, and not totally effecient with JV16 Power Tools 'yet'. :
