jv16 PowerTools 2010 Beta3 released!

Running Win XP-Prof SP3 I compared 'Clean & Fix my computer' and 'File Cleaner' from the view point of "temporary files".

I do not understand the rational behind cleaning with File Cleaner, with Standard setting, listing a few hundred 'unused fonts'

with probably one or more false positives and file cleaning with the tool Clean & Fix, with Normal system scan, listing a

few hundered files from the directory C:\....\Temporary Internet Files\content.IE5\ which are NOT reported by 'File Cleaner'!

See the two attached file listings.

Now the interface to 'File Cleaner' is so simplified, compared to jvPT2009-v606, running with Standard setting must be IMO faultless for almost all end users.

File Cleaner > Menu > Tools

The Tools Backups and Settings are interchanged.

When you click on Backups you get the Settings window and when you click on Settings you get the Backups window.

Well IMO the options 'list unused fonts' and 'list unused shared system files' should be unchecked by default.

I'm not sure, but it's possible those options are actually checked by default. If so that's wrong and maybe dangerous.

I just checked a "vanilla" install. Those two options are checked by default.

Window size is still not sticky.

ie resize the active window when running Registry Cleaner, after the scan has finished shut down PT then restart and run Registry Cleaner again. The window in focus has returned to it's default size.

Perhaps I'm missing the point and this is how it is supposed to be?

Added note: in a different run, there were two other such files listed. While I resized the date and size columns, they spontaneously dropped from the list! : With a rescan, they did not show.

When I do a "flush cache" and a new "initial setup," the two health indicators each show 1%.

Could this indicate a bug of some kind?

If I rename SysAnalysis.dat and then start PowerTools, the two health indicators each show 100%.

When I then do a "flush cache" and the "initial setup" again, the health indicators show 86% and 72%.

On Windows 7 x64 with only "My Documents" selected, the malware scanner is scanning C:\Program Files (x86).

Yes, nothing was checked there.

Happens often, but not every time, with that sequence of actions. Sometimes the hang affects all of PowerTools.

I'll attach debug logs for the access violation case and the hang case when the board again allows attachments.
