Could you please go to them Main Window, the Debug menu and click "Test new Open Dialog"? It uses a different method to launch the Windows Open/Save Dialog. In my test setup of 64 bit Windows 7 it doesn't work either, though.

I thought so too, this also happens with my 64 bit Vista box. We'll have to try something else then...

This bug is now fixed, thank you for reporting!

The bug is actually quite different to what you reported: the bug is, that the program slows down exponentially when a lot of data is added to the new list component. In other words, if you add 10.000 lines and it takes 4 seconds, adding 20.000 lines wouldn't take 8 seconds, it would take 16 seconds (4^2, not 4*2).

So, when you do a Registry Finder search with a search words that result in thousands of hits, the slowdown causes the program to freeze.

I have now found the problem that caused the slowdown and the addition of data is now linear, so adding the double amount of data takes only the double amount of time.

Apparently it''s self-correcting. I had noticed it only in Settings-->File wiping and somewhere in "Clean & fix my computer." However, it's not recurring when I go back there. If I run Beta 3 on another machine, I'll recheck it.

I had it also when I opened Settings > File Wiping the first time. Afterwards the phenomenon has disappeared... I'm not able to reproduce it again, but it was there the first time.

When safety net activates on registry cleaner clicking cancel does the same as clicking no. It goes to the next entry. The only way to end it was to go to task manager and close out the program. Maybe need a yes to all and a no to all entries when safety net pops up.

This shouldn't be an issue with the final version as the Safety Net should never show up in a non-beta version release.

Beta 3 status per the developer's change log and tullik's testing log:

In the lists below, fixes confirmed with version 678 have |.| tags (62 items).

Prior issues still present in version 678 have |..| tags (28 items). Not all of these have been reported as fixed yet by the developer. Some may be fixes that did not work.

Newly noticed bugs in version 678 have |...| tags (51 items).

Tests pending (in Beta 4 or later): 27 items with (.) tags.

Running with Win XP-Prof SP3, jv16PT2010 Beta3 File Cleaner, run with Default Setting and so box Unused Fonts is checked, reports c:\windows\fonts

as directory to clean many files (=fonts) from. I think several mentioned files/fonts to be cleaned are false positives, e.g. vga850.fon!

Without this font vga850.fon Win XP-Prof SP3 does NOT boot.

Why is c:\windows\fonts seen as a "file to be cleaned" in the file cleaning process?
