Maybe that's normal. When the concerning files are in use the process cannot access them.

That phenomenon existed already in the previous version of the PowerTools.

When using the registry cleaner and scanning the registry ,some dates 'entry last modified ' display a wrong date setting .

Check spelling throughout the package. Noticed several messages where 'analysis' was misspelled as 'analyzis'.

Great job, guys. Keeps on getting better...I have two possible bugs I wish to report for Beta 1.

#1 occurs in Registry Cleaner: The entries that show up show "Internal error 091". They cannot be cleaned and always show up. Do not know if this is a bug or standard entry with new version...I would attach screenshot, but don't know how and in a rush right now so can't be bothered to look up in forum... : See fieldoxide's screenshot for the error I am talking about...

#2 is strange indeed. When I in the Service Manager module, and I right-click on one of the services, my mouse pointer turns to a drawing pen and starts to draw a red line wherever I point my mouse... Again, I have a screenshot, and will send it along once I get back and can figure out how to attach on this bulletin board.

I am running Windows XP Pro SP3 on a Dell and have used JV16 for several years. Haven't tried it on my Toshiba Dual-Core Vista machine yet, but will post results when I do.

Please don't use Imageshack to upload images: it's loading very slow.

There's a forum software build-in possibility to upload images or screenshots: when you click on "Postreply" at the bottom you'll see "Options" and next to that "Upload attachment" :

Thank you for the tip, I have now adjusted the Service Manager's Optimize feature. It will be less aggressive in the next released version.

• Settings: On the Backup tab, the 3 selection boxes are unevenly spaced – looks unprofessional.

I can't see this, could you send a screenshot that shows the problem?

PT2009 beta1 observations (Vista HP SP1) Noted on Sunday 23 November 2008 – posted later due to travel.

Service Manager
* Age/Comment features would be useful.

* Select-->Most frequent column data & Select-->Similarities in column data don't do anything.

History Cleaner
* Select-->Most frequent column data & Select--> Similarities in column data don't do anything.

* GUI: when you chose either of the two context menu items for a line, sometimes the requested action does not take place at once. Instead, a red line follows the pointer as you move the mouse within the PT list window. The requested action takes place when you do a left click in the window anywhere below the caption/menu area. Many other PT2009 list windows have similar behavior.

* Show data window: once a line is highlighted, for example, by clicking it, there is no way to turn off the highlighting.

GUI
* When several PT windows are present, minimizing any one of them minimizes all of them.

Startup Manager
* The comments column is missing.

* GUI: The context menu for a line sometimes doesn't show at once. Instead you get the red line following the mouse pointer within the PT list window. Additional left or right clicks do no good until you first click outside of any PT window, then go back to the Startup Manager list window and click. Until you do this, all other present PT windows do not respond to any click.

Software Manager
* GUI: The context menu behavior is like that of the Startup Manager.

* The progress indicator for Custom Uninstall-->Find registry keys does not indicate progress. It stays empty and just goes away when the scan completes.

* Select-->Most frequent column data & Select-->Similarities in column data don't do anything.

Message windows
* Each message window, though scrollable, has a fixed vertical size of 9 lines. A message window cannot be drag-resized to make it taller.

File Cleaner
* Owner.bmp was in the list. I selected it and clicked the Copy to icon and specified a target folder. I got five copies of Owner.bmp in the target (Owner.bmp, Owner_2.bmp, ... Owner_5.bmp). I did this twice to different targets with the same result.

Several tools
* A right click in data entry type tabs, and some data entry boxes, does not bring up the copy/paste/undo context menu. Ctrl-C and Ctrl-V do work, so there is a partial workaround.

* A right click in the caption area (for example, File Finder) does not bring up the copy/paste context menu. Ctrl-C and Ctrl-V do work, so there is a workaround.

File icon bar
* The placement of the icon bar can (does) cause accidental invocation of functions. When you select an action from a menu bar pop-up, the same click drops the cursor onto an icon and the icon's feature is sometimes unintentionally invoked. It depends on where the cursor touches the icon.

Hopefully in this week. But I'd like to see all the known issues to be fixed before Beta2 so it might be delayed to next week.
