"Up to" is "politically" correct - in french it is corresponding to "jusqu'à".

Here is a report of bugs confirmed and/or fixed since the last report. All these fixes are included in the next released beta versions.

Problem: The quick system analysis takes more than 5 minutes to run.

Status: Not confirmed. However, I did some more improvements and I'm rather sure the problem is now fixed for good.

Problem: The File Recovery search window goes away right after I click start and the results window appears, even as "Close tool window when results window is shown" setting is not checked in Settings window.

Problem: "This will take up to a few minutes. Please wait..." is not good English.

Problem: Clicking the ... buttons on the Installation tab of the Settings window always starts at My Computer (instead of at their current locations) and allows selection of read-only locations.

When clicking the ... buttons under Default program directories on the Installation tab of the Settings window the new window, in which you can select the location, always starts at My Computer instead of at their current locations. The application also allows you to select read-only locations, while it should try to write to the new location after the OK button is clicked and give an error and return to the old location when writing to the new location fails.

As far as I can tell, there is no way to easily define the default startup folder of the directory browser. The directory browser is launched by Windows API and I can't see if it supports this feature, I'm afraid.

Problem: The application name the program gives to Windows is not correct.

According to Windows the application name is

jv16 PowerTools / RegSupreme Pro / RegSupreme

instead of

jv16 PowerTools 2008

This is true. But it's not possible to define the application name in Delphi in runtime (as far as I know), so a generic name is used. The same code base is nowdays used for all our products, that's why the name is "jv16 PowerTools / RegSupreme Pro / RegSupreme".

Problem: CloseBtn should be Close.

The Close button sometimes (not always) contains the text CloseBtn instead of just Close.

Can you, or anyone else, find a way to reproduce this problem?

True, but most of our feedback comes directly to us, not via the forum.

You wrote it goes together with the "File Cache": well, as far as I know, that file cache contains (merely) the "file paths" on our PC. In what way those file paths give any information about the "health" of our computer?

The PC Health is calculated from the number of registry errors and unneeded files found from the computer. The Reg Health is calculated only from the registry errors. And the usefulness is simple: to allow the user to see with a one glimpse the overall status of the computer. No need to run many tools and figure out what different numbers mean, just run the quick system analysis and you see it righ away. Or, if you don't want to see that, just use the classic PT 2007 user interface.

A few comments regarding Beta 2, installed on a WinXP SP2 machine with 1GB RAM, 160GB hard drive:

* Selecting Registry Compactor returns an 'Internal Error MIOTC-1' error dialog box.

* Startup Manager: Shows Windows Defender as one of my startup programs though Defender is not and never has been installed on my machine.

* Button Text: A carryover from PT2007, inconsistent use of 'Close' and 'Cancel' on exit buttons throughout the program. Should pick one and be consistent throughout all applications.

* Program Text: In the 'please wait' dialog boxes, you use 'a while' instead of 'awhile'. Guidance:

Awhile or A While?

Awhile is an adverb which means "for a while."

A while is two words, the article plus a noun, usually used after the preposition for.

Examples: I thought awhile before I answered.

I thought for a while before I answered.

I apologize if the last 2 items seem insignificant, but I am a professional text reviewer who wants very much for your program, which I love, to be flawless and as professional as possible.

Overall, the look and feel of 2008 are great - much more intuitive for new users, without feeling dumbed down to this computer veteran. Initially, I thought I'd instantly switch to the PT2007 interface that I know and love, but I like the new look. Nice change.

Using version 1.8.0.435 that I downloaded today. Registry compact shows "Internal error MIOTC-1". This feature is only for NT based operating systems, such as Windows 2000 and Windows XP.

I am running Vista Home Premium.... I saw a post that this was to be fixed in beta 2 but I guess not.

The registry cleaner kills Free Download Manager and I have to reinstall it every time. This is the only program so far that I have found that it kills it. Hope you have fix that.
