File Organizer (Vista)
File Organizer did not accept a drag and drop of the FO In (small) directory from either the Desktop, a win explorer window of the Desktop, or a copy placed on another disk. I could put it in the FO window with the "Add" button.
Added note: This drag & drop is a probable Vista issue ... it may not be fixable by PowerTools …
Note: FO In (small) directory contains copies of the PT Settings\Preferences directories from my desktop and notebook PC's ...
File Organizer did accept a drag and drop of the Settings\Preference directories from a win explorer window of Program Files.
When I applied the suggested structure, FO created a directory name that confused Vista win explorer (see lower left corner of thumbnail). I had deleted everything in the FO Out directory, but the bad name could not be deleted (or renamed). Workaround: use FO context menu to rename the bad directory before you click Apply.
Notes: 1. Nothing I tried in PT or win explorer would get rid of the bad name -- it took cmd & rmdir to do it. :
2. I could not get win explorer or cmd & mkdir to create a directory name with a trailing space or period.
3. Root bug probably is in some windows API that FO uses …
