Windows XP Home, SP2, using Diskeeper Professional Version: 10.0.608.0, I tried the defrag icon. The analyze will get to 100% but then all the results disappear from the box. The defrag will start, the hard drive light wil be on for about 30 secs, then goes off and never comes back on solid. Task manager does not show it as being active. Is the Diskeeper affecting the defrag?

Hi,

Found following bug:

When i run registry cleaner, and then highlight all HIGH issues, then select them and say "Custom fix.." it fixes the custum items, deletes them from the list, but keeps a selected Empty row.

Then when stopping/aborting, and trying to fix all items at ones with "Fix", nothing happens.

When stopping the registry cleaner and start it up again, jv16 powertools crashes, without warnings, it's just gone..... Also it's nowhere to find in taskmanager.

Some system info:

-Windows XP Pro

-Comodo firewall

-Nod32 Antivirus

-Diskeeper 2007

-Acronis Privacy Expert Suite 9

Testing JV16 Powertools 2007 bèta 1.7.0.369

Disk wiper does not work properly:

- The "Add..." button does not work on my system.

- When trying to wipe a sd card, nothing happens. Not sure if it supposed to work.

- Aborting takes very long.

Start menu fixer:

- The fixer seems to work but automatically closes after running it without confirming it's finished.

That's it for now...

Some more development news: due the major changes to the registry cleaner engine also the user interface of the Registry Cleaner will be changed quite dramatically.

Currently the Registry Cleaner lists registry entries and keys, in PT 2007 it will list errors.

You'll see what I mean in a few weeks :

Two more bugs.

in settings - always ask me if i want backup to be created, running Registry cleaner in automatically remove all mode, their is no promp for backup, it is created automatically.

If while Registry cleaner is running a scan, you go to backup tool and select delete all, you get no - are you sure warning.

This is a safety feature, the automatic cleaning modes always create a backup.

This Beta version is working well for me with the exception of File Cleaner.

This function finds 300+ entries, but when I select them for deletion I get an error message for each itme saying that it failed to access C\allusers\applicationdata\ file name.....

Anyone else experienced this?

Beta 5 works ok for me. I really would like to see the defragmenter work better, and I look forward to the changes in RC1. I am having an issue witth launching the program. It will show up in the taskbar, and then disappear. Cannot seem to get it to run.

Yes, this is correct behavior when some application or process is using the file. 300+ files however seems like a lot ... and the "failed to access" message is a rather nonspecific reason ...

Also, when a file has the "Hidden" attribute, File Cleaner "Remove" is not consistent (*) -- this is almost certainly a bug ...

This may also be true for a file with the "Read only" attribute, but I'm not certain -- did not have a test case handy right now ...

(*) Says it removed the file, backed it up, but didn't really remove it. If you take off the "Hidden" attribute, it then really does remove the file.

The History/MRU Cleaner removal completion note counts files as registry keys.

Another bug, cache update seems to run without prompt, this happened only in the 15 days mark, not when you delete it manually.

This is a long thread, so I apologize in advance if this has already been thoroughly covered -

I just ran the Start Menu Fixer, fixed about 15~20 items, but when it finished it still showed about 5 of those items on the list, selected and checked as though they were ignored. Closing and restarting the Start Menu Fixer did not show these entries again, however. It just seems that it didn't properly re-paint the list.
