This is not necesseraly a bug, there is no standard way to calculate the fragmentation of a hard disk drive, that's why each defrag application shows a different number.

PT's Disk Defragmenter uses two variables to calculate the total fragmentation: How many files of all files of the disk are stored in two or more fragments (i.e. are fragmented), and How large space does these fragmented files take compared to non-fragmented data.

Hi, about the duplicate files finder:

a minor bug: the "options" tab does not work (either displays "ignore words" tab or "match criteria" tab".)

I wish the mach criteria were saved with the preferences.

What about a tool to automate the deleting of files (ex: keep oldest file, keep newest file, keep files into that drive...)

Duplicate File Finder tab bug confirmed.

By clicking around all the tabs, I eventually got Options to show.

With no combination of clicking did I ever see inside the Match criteria tab.

They are saved in PT 2006 and probably will be in PT 2007 once the DFF tab bug is fixed.

in the duplicate files finder, when a file cannot be deleted (for instance, marked read-only) it is anyhow removed from the tree display.

Registry Cleaner - Suggestion:

The Registry Cleaner lists all UserAssist entries.

This will break all the hidden Start-Menus.

Would be nice if there will be an checkbox added to have these skipped or something.

One Click Cleaner - Suggestion:

It would be nice if the One Click Cleaner Would be realy a One Click shortcut.

Now i first have to create a profile, save it so that i can use it later.

I think that it would be handy if it can create a user shortcut in the PowerTools main window, and execute my One Click Cleaning.

Also, a feature to hide all the poping windows would be nice.

Just show a window with some text about the current running tool and maybe even about how much it has removed.

That would make it a real One Click Tool.

Are you sure? The Registry Cleaner was modified in a way it only lists UserAssist entries containing broken file references. The MRU Cleaner module of PT 2006's Registry Cleaner did list all UA entires, but this policy has been changed in PT 2007.

Are you sure? The Registry Cleaner was modified in a way it only lists UserAssist entries containing broken file references. The MRU Cleaner module of PT 2006's Registry Cleaner did list all UA entires, but this policy has been changed in PT 2007.

Now that is strange..

I am sure i checked it twice.

There were items listed that were correct.

I just rebooted my computer, and re-check this.

And now i indeed only find items that are broken.

Don't know what happend.

Is it possible (and desirable), when running Registry Compactor, viewing the evolution of the process in the (new) messages window, e.g. "HKLM\Security done!", "HKLM\Software, done!", HKLM\System, done!, etc. ?

The default viewer under Settings > Advanced is Notepad.exe.

When being in File Finder > More Functions > View, I can not view (with Notepad) e.g. found *.pdf-files.

It should be nice and useful if the user had the possibility (option) by right-clicking the file to choose an alternative and appropriate viewer program (e.g. Adobe Acrobat Reader) right from within the File Tool.

That option exists already in MS Windows (right-clicking a file to open or view it with the appropriate program), why couldn't that be possible in the PowerTools?
