I can confirm that the registry information is very inaccurate its showing my registry as only 4.4 megs when in actuality it is 33 megs. Might also effect the registry compactor

Not sure if this is a bug or intentional. In the first beta when minimizing during registry cleaner the main window and registry cleaner window were minimized to seperate windows in the lower left corner but beta 3 reverts to minimizing it to one button on the task bar. I prefer the way it was in the first beta.

When restoring the window from the taskbar the main window hides the registry cleaner window and has to be dragged to the side in order to access the registry cleaner.

I still get an internal error whenever entries are found relating to mcafee updates. It references the VSO log files.

It's weird ...

Registry Info gives a total of 19 MB for my registry.

Well, looking in C:\WINDOWS\System32\Config > found following:

- "Software" : 35.656 kB

- " System" : 8.192 kB

- "Default" : 264 kB

- "SAM" : 24 kB

- TOTAL: 44.136 kb

In addition you have the "ntuser.dat" en "UsrClass.dat" files.

So I must conclude that the info "Registro Info" gives is indeed not very accurate.

On the other hand I think that this has no repercussion on the (good) working of the Registry Compact tool, because I have noticed that the size of the hives indicated there are exactly the same of those indicated after running "RegCompact.NET 1.8".

tool tip for registry manager should be rewritten because it still tells the user that they can manage startup programs with the registry manager.

That's right ... noticed that when I was translating the program ...

It's still part of the English language file.

ran registry cleaner and when it finished used down scroll arrow, program froze and had to be closed.

I was now able to locate and fix the bug that caused the Reg Info to show wrong results.

Well, compacting the registry is only a few standard API calls. I'm 99% sure that every single registry compact/compress/defrag/whatever product uses the exactly same method that PT 2006.

I get an error when I try to compact my registry also. It says "Error! Fail to open registry key HKEY_Local_Machine\Security" After I click OK I look in the little title bar of the compacter and I get a "not responding". After a few minutes it goes away and I get a message telling my registry was compacted. It appears to compact the registry though. Other than the problem I noted about, I'm not having any other progrmas. Thanks for fixing it and keep up the good work.

You are correct, this is now fixed. Thank you for reporting.

The next beta version should be out in a week or so, most likely on next Tuesday.

Most likely yes. But I don't always respond to e-mail reports if they don't contain any questions or such. You can resend your report if the bug is still unfixed with Beta3.

The registry cleaner is freezing up. I ran the 2005 trial version and it completed fine but the 2006 beta 3 freezes up and has to be closed through the task manager.

The reg cleaner seems to hang for a moment before starting then seems to run fine. Once finished it freezes. The dialog box never appears and task manager shows the program as not responding.

This should be fixed in the next version.
