File cleaner closing before finished.

I'm having a problem with the file cleaner, while it scans fine the actual clean closes the program at about 44%.

Running Win 11 24H2.
Windows Defender.
Malwarebytes
JV 16 added to exclusion list on both.

The problem seems to indicate that something is causing the program to crash. Does it matter which settings within File Cleaner you use, or does this always happen?

Always happens.

I’d like to add that Initial Setup runs every time the program is opened.

That seems unusual as well. Have you tried to uninstall and re-install jv16 PowerTools?

Not a full uninstall/reinstall but I did install over the program to repair any potential corrupt files.

I’ve now clean installed the program & problems remain.
It crashes while cleaning Programfiles>JAVA.

What is installed in Program Files > Java? If I can reproduce the problem, I can also fix it. Without being able to reproduce the problem myself, trying to fix it would be like trying to find a black duck from a pitch black barn at night with blinds on.

I’ll need to check. As a note I uninstalled Java a few months ago.

Within that folder there a 'latest' folder & inside that there is a jre-1.8 folder which appears to be a shortcut to the uninstalled JAVA. I susprect I may need to dete this manually.

I removed the folder & cleaning scan reaches 6% then closes saying cleanup is complete which doesn't seem right. Running the system cleaner again however shows no files need cleaning.
Problem with Initial Setup running every time program is opened remains though.

It sounds like it could be simply a cosmetic issue relating to the scan progress reporting. I have had a few people reporting the Initial Setup issue, but I have been so far unable to reproduce the issue so it has been impossible to fix.
