Edit: I discovered the cause of the slowdown & it wasn't JV 16 but emClient. I installed both JV 16 & emClient at the same time & hadn't had problems with emClient previously, after recovering via an image I decided not to install JV 16 so just installed emClient & the laptop slowed down; once I'd uninstalled it returned to normal. I don't know how an email client could affect things like that. JV 16 installed fine.
Where did you post the backup logs?
Icons missing from the notification area is a common side effect of using the Startup Optimizer of jv16 PowerTools. It can cause some delay to non-essential Windows software to automatically start up, which means there can be some delay before those notification area icons show up after the computer is started up. This is done to speed up the actual computer startup time and those software are started up with a delay. If you don't like this, you can simply disable the Startup Optimizer.
These icons never appeared until I manually started each program. I left things for several minutes.
I posted them in the "JV16 Powertools 2017Update Released - Version 4.1.0.1738" forum.
