An updated version of jv16 PowerTools 2017 has been released. The latest version number is 4.1.0.1703.

To update right now, you should download the latest version from our website and install it from scratch or even on top of any already installed version of jv16 PowerTools 2017.

If you are still running jv16 PowerTools X, jv16 PowerTools 2014 or any earlier version, please note that these older products are no longer maintained or updated and may not be fully compatible with most recent updates of Windows.

To get the best experience from our work please install jv16 PowerTools 2017 and make sure that you set it to a new directory (do not install in the same directory as jv16 PowerTools X, jv16 PowerTools 2014 or any earlier versions).

I'm sorry but the latest update is 1703, not 1689. I can't help myself, with all the problems I'm having with this program. It's rude and I apologize.

Okay, so I tried Clean & Fix only, in 4.1.0.1703 I would say it's a bit faster but I just cleaned the machine yesterday. And, for the record, it took approximately 8 minutes and 18.5 seconds to reload (from the computer starting till the last pre start to load). I can't tell exactly as I don't have a drive light on my ASUS. And I still have to acknowledge to have Preworker 1 load. Nor does this allow for time to download and repair WordPerfect Office X8, AGAIN.

Should ALL temp or tmp "directories" or folders be included in its search. Why not just the file extenders "tmp." Something is terribly wrong here and my last entry, above, might illustrate the frustration many users are having. I think it's time to reign in on all of those temp or tmp directories being grouped as they are. Some of the directories don't even make sense. Are they worded that way to keep them safe? And, where are the WordPerfect errors ??? I try to catch them but they're not there.

Just an insight.

Ran CFMC.

Unchecked all the boxes; Startup Optimizer, Registry Compactor, Performance Tweaks.

Ran Aggressive setting.

Found ~160 errors, selected all, deleted all, with the Restart box unchecked.

Popup asked if I wanted to restart, selected No.

Ran CFMC again, same settings, found two more errors, selected Delete. PC restarted with no warning.

During startup, the 'Preparing your computer...' screen came up as if Registry Compactor was starting, but RC did not run.

In less than 10 minutes I realized that the new version is as buggy, or maybe even more buggy, than the last.

Uninstalled.

Noticed that for me restart PC after cleaning doesn't work, I manually restart after cleaning, this happened before the creators update & the previous update/version of JV 16. I clean installed Windows 10 creators update & the new version of JV 16 power tools home 'page' tells me the registry is not optimal even though I've run the clean & fix my computer several times, cleaner finds a couple of entries but I still see that the registry is 51% ok - not optimal.

Since you locked the other thread where you responded to me on the license activation issue, I guess I'm forced to write here. Couple of things actually. I noticed on my main pc, my desktop running Win 7 Home Premium 64 that my license is under my old email address, and on my 2nd pc, a Vaio laptop same os, under a newer address, I believe the one I purchased the VIP license with. With the newest pc, another laptop running Win 10 (yuk!) neither address will work, so there is another potential problem when I reset, which email to use? Also, the copy of Power Tools on the desktop with the old address was able to notice the newer version (.1703) when using the check update function, the one on the Vaio does not, it states that v. .1657 IS the latest version, so something's going on there. Another thing, directed at Mihai, you state if needed to start a ticket on the support website, but as I wrote in the other threads, and in the private forum email to Stefan (after in one thread he requested I write him, but of course I received zero reply), I DID start TWO requests, along with the dozen or so emails I sent, and received confirmation emails the requests were received, but NO FURTHER CONTACT. Seriously guys, just what the heck is going on lately? As I wrote many times now, I've been with you for YEARS, paying every time necessary to renew the annual licenses, and just last year stepped up to the VIP license because I felt after all these years of great service, what's I have to lose?? Almost FOUR FULL MONTHS of trying is WAY too long to get an adequate response for what should be a quick simple resolution, no?

So, before I do the reset thing on that 3rd pc, I reiterate, just which email address should I use? Perhaps I should be emailed at the newer gmail address that I know you guys have, and will provide privately if I need to.

I believe I suggested at one point that all those check boxes are unchecked by default, and that the user needed to 'opt-in'.

Obviously that suggestion was ignored.

Anyway, using W7. It will be a cold day in Hell before W10 is on any of my personal machines.

I would use the latest version of jvPT... if it actually worked properly.

And, I have no intention of 'going'. As a Platinum license holder, why would I?

Unfortunately, it seems it is. Still waiting for the answer to a seemingly simple question, and this after sending a private message requested by the recipient on a public forum. Extremely discouraging, especially for we long term paying customers. I just don't get it.

Sent a private message with the results for testing your license. I see no reason why your license is not activating at your side (everything seems fine from here).

Please confirm that your license activated based on the instructions I sent.

I am reposting this here as my original post has not received any reply:

I finally have had to give up using JV16 as it is interfering with my Corel programs, today I wanted to use Roxio NXT4 but when I opened it I had a 'preparing to install' message, I thought it was an update but nothing happened & eventually it failed, I uninstalled & reinstalled the program & everything worked, ran JV16 & upon opening Roxio I had the same 'install' message, this time it completed. All was working with no further install message so ran JV16 to clean up, yes upon opening Roxio I had the same message again. I decided to try another Corel program I have, I opened Paintshop Pro X9 & I found it required reregistering.

I am now more than convinced JV 16 caused the problem with my WinDVD installation.

I am always careful in checking what JV16 wishes to remove & none mentioned any of the programs it has affected, all were either unneeded temp files or registry errors. I was using the latest version & I have now uninstalled JV16.

Edit: I can run JV16 power tools X with no problems so am using that, I have also contacted support about this problem as no one from Macecraft has replied here.

I finally contacted support direct who had me send them the Backup folder, it's been passed on to the Lab.

Hopefully a fix will be forthcoming, if not or they find there's no problem then that's it for me.

And, all I've been trying to accomplish since Christmastime 2016 is to activate a copy of JV16 on one of three pc's. That's it.

And now can't use it at all on that laptop, because it's an expired "trial" version. Of course attempting to reset the license also wouldn't work from an unlicensed copy. So now I can't get use from something I've already paid for.. This could only happen in the software world.

I must know, is Macecraft planning on sill being in business? If not, please let me know here so I can finally just give up. This is patently ridic... INSANE. Literally SIX months of effort on my part, and ONE time someone at Macecraft adequately responded and FIXED the issue for ONE of two pc's. Why would I, or anyone perusing these fora ever want to spend any hard earned cash on anything Macecraft has to offer? What has happened to you guys? You were great for years, and now, pfffftttt. I've spent a considerable amount of money over the years here, and as I've written several times now, because of the good experiences until last year, I finally purchased the VIP license, last year, and then nada, zip, nothing. Very frustrating. I usually give folks the benefit of the doubt, at first, especially smaller up and coming businesses who I would rather support than the big, stinking corporate thieves that now seem to be running the world, but after 6 MONTHS I am ready to simply ask for my money back and say see ya later. Someone at Macecraft MUST understand the, uh, notion of "customer service", which zero corporations understand at all. Please do NOT take a page from the corporate handbook, and turn yourselves around, or at least give an explanation for the deafening SILENCE. PLEASE.
