Steps to reproduce:

1. From main GUI select “Settings/Integration with Windows“

2. Select your items for the “Jump List” including “Settings”

3. Click -ok-

4. Now click “Settings” from the “Jump List” and open “Integration with Windows”

There are no check marks in the list!

If you click -ok- and wait for 2-3 seconds a failure window will pop up only for a split second and disappear again.

Repeat step 4. and mark on the left side any item for the desktop and close the window by -ok- again after 2-3 seconds the failure window will pop up stable (see attached screen shot).

The same statements are true also when you put "Settings" as shortcut on the desktop and operate that one!

What kind of assistance do you expect?

These key's can not be removed because jv16PT does not/cannot get the necessary ownership over these keys to modify/delete them.

Permission can be changed manually, if you have the proper 'registry skills'. (Mine are very limited!)

In my case 24 'Software deep trace items' were originally found. I managed to manually change permission for 14 keys but 10 keys seem to be 'untouchable'.

I have attached a .doc written by user=tullik about changing permissions manually.

The bug not fixed in 1155.

The Hungarian language file too old in 1155 installer! v2.1.01145.

Here the current, updated and improved Hungarian version (2.1.0.1155)

W7-SP1-x64:

1. The access violation bug seems to be gone!

2. Except the 'Hungarian language' problem. The language does NOT show at installation time but after installation does show in 'Main Menu' -> 'Language' pull down menu!

However using 'Settings' ->'Integration with windows' from the desktop shortcut always shows an screen with all items unchecked,

even if some boxed were previously checked using 'settings' -> 'Integration with windows' from the main menu!

First the good news:

The mentioned “Access Violation” has not appeared again!

The bad news:

As Leonardo stated already the empty windows (nothing checked) when activating “Settings” either from Jump List or from Icon on Desktop is still therewith one difference to .1153: if you click –ok- on this one, the Jump List cleans up but Icons on Desktop are still available.

The worst:

Since the above happened after an update install from .1155 over 1153 I could not believe it and I uninstalled the whole thing, rebooted and installed version .1155 clean.

Everything was now still the same as above but, now whatever item you selected for the Jump List it showed in the Jump List as “Disk Wiper” except for the item “Settings” which obviously still does not work correctly. (See picture)

If you now click on any “Disk Wiper” in the Jump List The main program GUI will appear and not the “Disk Wiper” or the selected item.

I did most of my testing in the localized English version but I made also one test in the German version which revealed one more thing:

If you trigger “Settings/Integration with Windows” from main GUI it displays the translation for settings as “Konfiguration” which is correct.

If you trigger “Settings/Integration with Windows” from Jump List or from Icon on Desktop (still in the German version) it is displayed as the English expression “Settings” again.

That tells me (I am not a developer) that these different approaches are intercepting the code for the routine at a totally different point causing the bug we are dealing with!

My hope:

Somebody understands what I am trying to say!
