Have you reported a bug or a problem relating to PowerTools 2012?

Please give this version a try:

And report to this thread whether the bug has been fixed. If not, please let me know what the problem is and we'll do our best to get it fixed for the next released build.

ChangeLog:

Bug fix: The program can show an error "data.xbin corrupted" when starting.

Bug fix: Registry Compactor can show an internal error while doing the second phase of compact.

Bug fix: History Cleaner can report "failed to access" error when run in non-English version of Windows.

Bug fix: Running the Registry Cleaner (or Clean and Fix My Computer) can cause the list of accounts to disapear from Windows 7 login screen. The problem can be solved by restoring the backup created by PowerTools.

Bug fix: Removing specific kinds of data with the Registry Cleaner or any other registry tool of PowerTools can cause the program to crash to Access Violation at address 006C13A4.

Bug fix: Program can show "The application seems to be frozen." error message while running the Registry Cleaner (or Clean and Fix My Computer) with specific data in the registry.

Bug fix: Wrong tool can start when started via Windows 7/8 Start Menu's via Jumplist.

Bug fix: Creating a desktop shortcut for specific tools might not work correctly.

Bug fix: Backup tool can show a backup in the wrong section, for example a File Cleaner backup under the Registry Backups tab.

Bug fix: Some tools, such as Mass Rename Files and Remove Files on Reboot had too little space for translated button captions.

Bug fix: The program can ask permission to check for new immunization data twice in a row.

Bug fix: The Action History menu item in the main window's File menu does not work.

Bug fix: Cannot translate the Delete item in context menu in the Mass rename tool.

Bug fix: Cannot translate the "Tag" item in the Startup Manager.

Bug fix: The program can crash to Access Violation after closing the History Cleaner.

Bug fix: The captions of the following tools cannot be translated: File tool, Immunize my Computer and Directory tool.

Improvement: Added a command line switch "-Immunize" to start the Immunize My Computer tool

Improvement: Made the "Undo Immunization" feature easier to find from the Tools menu of the Backup tool.

Improvement: Added a recommendation for the user to restart the program after disabling or enabling the Tag System, as its settings are not updated on-the-fly to already opened tools.

Improvement: Made the GUI of the program more responsive.

The desktop shortcut for each of the tools is still the jv16pt.exe shortcut instead of the shortcut for the specific tool.

Up till now NO 'Access Violations' occurred during the 'Registry Cleaning' process!

The Hungarian translation does not show by installation and then it shows nevertheless each time under Menu > Language.

Steps to reproduction:

1. Go to Settings and uncheck the "Allow Immunize my computer feature to check..." option on the Network features tab,

2. perhaps restart the aplication,

3. click on the Immunize my computer,

4. click on the No button,

5. click on the Close button.

This issue should now be fixed. I say "should" because I wasn't able to reproduce the problem but I think I found and fixed the bug in question. The fix will be included to the next released version.

Small typos in the English file:

HG92tT = Warning: Change these settings, Only if you are sure you know what you are doing!

- a big letter after comma

HF3p64 = Given aboce is the Global Ignore List. Write any search words to the list; all tools of PowerTools will ignore the matching items.

- aboce instead above

2Q72p8 = If you join our Product Newsletter, you will be sent email notifications of new product version releases, but nothing more.

- space in addition (after comma)

6 = Verify my downloads are safe to run

6 = Immunize my computer

Is this by design? (2x 6 = ) In the section .

Steps to reproduce:

1. From main GUI select “Settings/Integration with Windows“

2. Select your items for the “Jump List” including “Settings”

3. Click -ok-

4. Now click “Settings” from the “Jump List” and open “Integration with Windows”

There are no check marks in the list!

If you click -ok- and wait for 2-3 seconds a failure window will pop up only for a split second and disappear again.

Repeat step 4. and mark on the left side any item for the desktop and close the window by -ok- again after 2-3 seconds the failure window will pop up stable (see attached screen shot).

The same statements are true also when you put "Settings" as shortcut on the desktop and operate that one!

You need to 'zip' the file first before uploading the now called Bugreport.zip file.
