Button labelling consistency?

In the Registry Cleaner, it's "Delete"; in CFMC, it's "Remove" to get rid of detected errors. I recommend that you change CFMC to "Delete".

This applies to Windows 7 SP1 x64 Professional. It DOES NOT apply to Windows 7 SP1 x86 Professional

If I open the StartUp Manager from a desktop shortcut, it takes 3-4 minutes for the data collection to complete and the window to fully open. If I open StartUp Manager from within jv16 main GUI, it opens within 15 seconds.

The debug log named jv16PT_debuglogshortcut.zip is from opening it via a desktop short.

The debug log named jv16PT_debuglogGUI.zip is from opening it via System Tools>Startup Manager.

Confirmed. The entries are specified as useless file extensions. This must not be correct for all or some of those keys, because when rebooting the Office 2010 configuration wizard starts to run. There must be an error in those results.

I have a HP Pavillion dv9543cl with Win Vista HP sp2.

After installation, I ran the jv16 PT 2012 beta 1 (jv16 PT beta1) using the Registry Cleaner, first, then the 'Clean and fix my computer', second,;

after the Registry cleaner was unable to fix a group of 32 keys/entries, a debug report appeared on the desktop (the report could be opened with word pad, but not note pad). The point of interest to me was that the displayed report indicated the date 02.11.2006 (I purchased instrument in Aug 2007), and I am interested in information about the program software and what it was related to on my computer. The reason for my interest is that I was unable to run a successful Win Resourse Protection after running the system file check command until I had installed service pack 1 (I bought the instrument prior to publication of sp1).

I ran the above sequence of jv16 PT beta1 routines two times and I subsequently ran the chkdsk /f command procedure. Prior to and after each run, I ran the same procedures using jv16 PT 2011; several debug reports were generated, however, I do not understand how to interpret such, thus, would like to know if you could enlighten me. Unfortunately, each time I attempt to attach a debug report your email program restarts and loses my attachment and typed report.

I also noted that after running the 'Fully remove software and leftovers' program that the jv16 PT 2012 software indicates that there is 'unknown

uninstall information'; this brings up the question regarding how this software may be uninstalled. Further, 4-5 of these programs are apparently

Microsoft/HP programs -why is Lightscribe here?. A similar number of programs are listed by jv16 PT 2011, however, those are only described by

long strings of letters/numbers enclosed in { } brackets. I tried to uninstall the ones indicated in jv16 PT 2011, but have not tried to uninstall those indicated in attached screen shot.

By the way, I am unable to upload either screen shot of the Registry Cleaner display or of the listing of software without uninstall informaiton!

Any feedback would be appreciated.

The Close button of the last four icons stays red when clicked without doing anything else. The corresponding button of the other icons turns green.

I am a user of jv16 PowerTools for the last some years. I don't see any difference between 2010, 2011 and 2012 beta1when scaning the registry. All the three versions find same errors. They really need to improve their registry scaning engine.

1. The group collapse/expand checkbox is missing.

2. Right click-->List control-->Collapse groups and Expand groups do not work. However, Collapse all groups and Expand all groups do work.

I have used jv16 PowerTools before. I had a license for an older version.

I have downloaded the latest beta realease. I had used for a simple registry clean up that messed up completely my system. AVG Internet security 2012 didn't worked anymore, I couldn't uninstall it nor reinstall it. I had to manually erase everything. I had restored the backed up registry made by jv16 and this led to more misery and suffering and time wasted because more applications started to run eratically. Microsoft Word started to tell that it didn't had enough memory and disk space. I couldn't repair, uninstall or reinstall this one either.

Then it struck me!

In order to save a lot of time for customers and macecraft support team this application should have a multilevel access for computer repair and tweaking. One for complete newbies that will do no harm even when they don't know how to use the computer and one for professionals that know what to do or they think they know what to do (as I did). The back up and restore feature should be more accurate, even when you do something wrong then you should be able to restore at the initial state.

From the start jv 16 should automatically create a snapshot or an image of all the settings on user computer that will be used to restore. Every new step should have automatic restore points.

I had scanned for leftovers of a software that I deliberately erased manualy to see if it helps. No help at all. It erased a lot of registry keys not related to it.

Overall experience with this beta testing session>

When someone has a lot of free time and doesn't know what to do, messing up the computer will be a good activity for couple of hours. It didn't erased leftovers as it supposed to do it only messed up every thing. I could hardly wait for a more accurate tool to clean up the computer and the registry. At this state this tool is uselles as a firefighter truck full with water and chemicals used to clean up a dirty spot on the carpet in the middle of the living room in a wooden home.

XP-SP3 and W7 x86,

The list "Installed Software without uninstall info" shows many entries (20 till 60).

However a lot of these listed entries show no data when tried to 'uninstall'. If the uninstall process is still continued and 'Yes' is clicked on the backup question, the uninstall process finishes without effectively doing anything. No backup taken, no uninstall done and the selected item still remains listed, even after stop/start jv16PT.

As in the previous 2 years I am totally confused about the Purpose, Design goal and Usability of this part of the "Fully remove software and leftovers" tool, that was first introduced in the jv16PT 2010 version. I would appreciate it if someone, who does understand this section, could enlighten me.

What did you do exactly and what were your 'Registry Cleaner' settings:

1. Engine settings,

2. Advanced engine settings,

3. Additional safety settings,

Did you use all the default settings? Restoring a backup made by jv16PT always worked for me (up till today), even with jv16PT 2012 Beta1.

As you can read in this forum thread there is a Registry Cleaner issue with MS Office, but a restore of the made backup solves this problem.

The file you used to merge the above mentioned entries into the registry, can you ZIP it and than attach it to this forum thread?
