In case someone is wondering: the work we have done with Vasek has so far also helped other users in a way the startup code of the program has been fine tuned to perform better (i.e. the program should start faster) and to be more reliable (i.e. an error during the startup of the program shouldn't cause the entire program to crash so easily now). Even if we couldn't find the bug, the work has not been for nothing.

An updated build 1042 has also been released, it's available for download from the first post of the thread (http://www.macecraft.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=4518&p=28954#p28954)

If no major issues are found, it will be released on Monday. It might be that we cannot get the problem reported by Vasek fixed by that time.

This is on Windows 7 SP1 x86 and x64 Professional with PT build 1042.

When opening Clean and Fix via a desktop shortcut, PT crashes. 100% repeatable. Clean and Fix does not crash if opened via the main jv16 GUI

Confirmed for XP-SP3 and Vista 32 with jv16PT build 1042.

At first Access violation '00000009' occurs. Clicking the 'Continue application tab' will cause CFMC to startup.

Clicking CFMC 'Start' scan causes the second Access violation '00000004' . After clicking 'Continue application', CFMC will continue and finish.

However only a part of the scan seems to be done.This is indeed 100% repeatable!

This is on Windows 7 SP1 x86 and x64 Professional; PT Build 1042. Probably applies to Vista systems as well.

If UAC is active, Phase II of Registry Compactor gets blocked on system reboot and is never executed. Therefore registry compacting is incomplete.

Vista 32bit Home Premium with jv16PT build 1042, Registry Compactor with re-boot:

Phase II of Registry Compactor gets blocked indeed, but after the re-boot Vista x86 comes with a message "apply yes to run blocked programs" to allow

Phase II of Registry Compactor to run after the re-boot. After applying 'yes' the 2nd stage of Registry Compactor completes normally.

The last column in the Registry scan output window can not be made fully visible. See the attached picture

If I remember well, there was a blank last column added in previous jv16PT versions to solve this problem.

That blank last column seems to be gone now.

There is a minor bug. Namely, after you check the box, you have to close and restart PowerTools before the Tag column will be on the list.

Thank's tullik, but 'Allow tags to be added to lines' is already activated and I have stopped/started jv16PTb1042 for many times but no visible last column.

So the bottom line problem seems to be that there is no tag column!

I did some more checking. A new "vanilla" install of version 2.0.0.1042 (and perhaps other versions also) does not create the ...\Settings\TagSystem.dat file.

If you add the file to your Settings folder with the content below, your lists will have a Tag column.

height=396

I've been using the same Settings folder since the beta testing, so I have the file and all my lists which can have a Tag column, do.
