Are you comparing the jv16PT SW Uninstaller list with the Microsoft Programs & Features list with or without the view of installed updates?

I've been testing PT betas on both PC's shown in my signature.

Before installing a new beta I remove the older one via Add and Remove programs. Today I downloaded v.6 beta and installed on my Laptop, however when attempting to run setup installer on my Desk Top I received a Setup Application error (Microsoft).

This is a new one for me as I have not had any issues uninstalling and installing previous versions.

I'm at a loss. :(

I have attempted to install several times and receive same error everytime.

Any input/solution would be greatly appreciated.

EDIT: Please disregard this post. Turns out it was a firewall glitch. Which is odd as there has not been this problem with previous installers??

Both Computers have beta6 installed successfully and from what I can tell so far, tasks i have implemented seem to be functioning; with the exception of previous error messages noted in prior posts for all versions so far.

I'm curious to know if I am the only one experiencing these error bugs.

....Just installed Beta 4 and received 2 error messages. One several seconds after starting JV16PT and the second 20-30 seconds after shutting down JV16PT.

These error messages don't seem to impact the use of the program but are obviously caused by something not meshing right.

With beta6 are you still referring to these 2 errors mentioned above? (1st error several sec. after the start of beta6 and 2nd error 20-30 sec after closing beta6)

Running XP-SP3 myself, I do not encounter these 2 bugs!

Do you get these errors if you disable RegDefend and or SpywareGuard? I'm just wondering if RegDefend is blocking jv16 from installing/running properly.

Also ensure that you have the latest Visual Basics Runtime package for Windows XP

XP-SP3 with v2.0.0.1000(beta6):

'File tools' -> select 'File Tool' -> Add one or more files through 'File menu' -> View the files -> with 'List contol' remove the files from the list ->

-> windows 'Task Manager' shows that jv16PT keeps running at +50% of my dual core for ~1minute before it stops.

W7 x86 does not show this behaviour, only XP-SP3!

The key HKLM\Software\microsoft\windows\currentversion\shared tools\msconfig\ does not exist

but the key HKLM\Software\microsoft\currentversion\shared tools\msconfig\ does exist and has 4 subkey's.

Please see the attached screenshot showing the detailed info of MSConfig subkey 'state'. The other 3 subkey's ('services', 'startupfolder' and 'startupreg') only show one line of detailed info "(Standard) REG_SZ (geen waarde ingesteld)". I hope this is what you asked for? If not, please let me know.

Confirmed for W7 x86 but not for XP-SP3, here it works fine!

Downloaded 2011 beta. Average laptop user seeking to stay up and running with an efficient and healthy registry. Used the file cleaner and registry cleaner. Both work great and have restored everything to 100% health. Attempted "Speed Up My Computer" checking most performance tweaks. No noticeable results. Went back and unchecked the tweaks. Thus far, everything works smoothly.

Something I have noticed in the 2011 versions that I have, so far, failed to mention is when I cycle through the list of items with the arrow keys, not always is the header updated. To be clear, this never happens if an item is clicked, only when the arrow keys are employed. Further, this behavior is inconsistent. It does not always happen; and when it does, it varies from item to item. I present three illustrations:

Can anyone else confirm this? This could just be a quirk of this particular machine (and that would figure, right?).

To add to my previous post:

The debug log clearly shows where I begin to use the arrow keys, but there is not mention of an error. I'm not a coder, but I believe one can find these spots quickly by searching for "FormOnKeyDown."

A suggestion:

One can also find, in the log, where I downloaded the latest Open Office. I did not install it, I have MS Office, but I keep copies for use on other machines. This file was archived off the computer. It took the Registry Cleaner to find this orphaned MUI entry. Wouldn't it be easier to include such an entry in Clean & Fix, rather than have me hunt this down through the registry tools?

It's clearly labelled as "Invalid file or directory reference" and was in the same directory as the items found by Clean & Fix in my previous post. It's just a suggestion...
