jv16 PowerTools 2011 Beta5 released

Was using beta 4c and now am on beta 5.

Same Start up ERROR and SHut Down ERROR as with beta 4c and now new issues.

Both Registry Clean and Clean and Fix my PC do not complete their function. They both hang indefinitely when progress bars are at the end of the task. Both have hung for more then (2) hours. With beta 4c the operation took between 5-10 minutes to finish

I have included sreen shots of Error Messages and Debug logs.

Should I go back to beta 4c or stay with bets 5 and hope there is a fix that will getting these functions working for me in this beta?

It's the betatesting fase, so remaining bugs will principally be fixed. Just wait for the following version: beta6, or RC1 and finally for the final version.

The purpose of betatests is simple: testing, reporting bugs, fixing bugs. That's all, not more not less. Betatesting should lead to a final version with as few remaining bugs as possible.

And we need as many beta testers as possible, particularly at this phase of development of PT 2011. The more software and hardware configurations that jv16 can land on right now will certainly improve the reliability of the official release of PT 2011. :

Further to my post on the top of this page. The "hanging bug" issue in this beta version (Reg Clean & Clean and Fix Functions) is apparent on both my machines listed in my signature, however on the Pentium (Lap Top) this morning when I booted up and started JV16 PT beta 5 the program totally froze my system. Nothing would respond, with Task Manager showing 100% CPU usage. THe only alternative I had was to force shut down.

I am now posting this on the Lap Top and have attached initial Setup Debug_log and THe Debug_log. Hopefully something will shed some light on why so many problems with this beta for me that were not present in beta 4c.

Please keep me posted if any anomalies are found related to this problem.

This "failed to access HistoryCleaner.xdat" problem was reported before, but was never mentioned as 'being fixed' or 'could not be fixed''.

Registry Finder fails to find many references to "Avast4." Awaiting developer response.

The folder "C:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast4\" no longer exists on the system, but the registry contains several references to it.

The program finds the references in HKLM, but misses those in HKCU and HKUS.

Under what circumstance can you try to fix this issue?

Bcz I also have this issue inside my remote WinXP Virtualmachine. If u need I can grant u full access to it.
