I think Macecraft and its customers would all benefit from a modest change to the version release process.

Namely, expose the prerelease alpha build to a selected set (*) of volunteer users for a short trial before the actual release. Short would be a week or less in duration, unless Macecraft chooses to extend it based on user feedback. Feedback would be to a single predefined topic in either the PT2008 or beta test forum.

(*) The selected set of users could be, for example:

1. either any forum member who cares to participate in response to the predefined prerelease trial topic,

2. or specific forum members chosen by Macecraft and notified of the opportunity via PM,

3. or members selected through some other means.

In any case, Macecraft doesn't give the impression working the professional way at this moment :

Let's hope it'll be better when the developer has moved to his new country shortly.

Bit of a see-saw going on in the forum - one day everyone is praising the developer for fixing bugs, a few days later day everyone is deprecating him for issuing buggy releases. I suppose they could both be true...
