I have very similar problems with the new jv16powertools 2008 in Vista Ultimate.
I sent an email yesterday but have received no reply.
Startup manager works ok in the 2007 version.
When I install the 2008 version and disable the exact same items I had disabled in 2007 version I have several services that are disabled as well.
The services will not start even if you try to restart them and they have nothing to do with the items I disabled in the startup manager.
Only way I can fix is to restore a previous Ghost image with jv16 powertools 2007.
It's startup manager works ok, except you can only disable or enable 1 item, close program & restart and disable or enable another, etc, etc.
It's been many months since I've used jv16 powertools 2007 and have it work properly.
The 2008 version, I cannot use at all.
