system optimizer settings are NOT saved <CMC>

Post by CMC »

Hello,

Checking the system optimizer I noticed that "Force windows core to RAM" and "Don't clear page file when system shuts down" are both checked and active however, no matter how many times I have attempted to UNCHECK/disable them and rebooted the system, BOTH of them remain checked and presumably active.

I have not tried to activate or deactivate other options in system optimizer but, said two options remaining active even after deactivating them is plain confusing and to some degree bothersome.

Any information or advice regarding this issue and how to deactivate both "Force windows core to RAM" and "Don't clear page file when system shuts down" is greatly appreciated.

Regards,

edit: Win XP SP3, 2GB RAM

I ran a test with System Optimizer with both jv16PT v2.0.0.986 and v2.0.0.996(beta4c), unchecking ALL check boxes in Performance Tweaks!
All settings, except the "Don't clear Page File when system shuts down", were remembered for the following sessions of System Optimizer.

Thanks for running the test. I did attempt, again, to uncheck/disable "Force windows core to RAM", rebooted and surprisingly, it remains active. However, you are correct all others with the exception of "Force windows core to RAM" and "Don't clear page file..." remain active. Peculiar to say, at the least.

Now, the question is that based on recommendation stated in "Force windows core to RAM", what if one's system has less than 1GB mem. in XP and this feature remains active regardless of ones efforts to disable it to conform with the said recommendation? Just Peculiar
