W7 Professional x86 with jv16PT v2.0.0.986,
Registry Finder with search word=ProfileList found 7 unique entries, no double entries were found.

Also, is this 64 bit or 32 bit edition of Windows?

You are right. Confirmed here!

No, you are not

Look at the attachments below.
Registry Finder in jv16 PT 2010 (build 986) lists two times the keys sub "ProfileList" from HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE. OS = Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit.

Confirmed here also, with x64 Windows 7.

What it is doing specifically, is listing these keys twice:
  • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList\name (name = S-1-5-18, for example)
and not listing these keys:
  • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList\name

That's strange, because in both locations the term "ProfileList" is present and Registry Finder just find/list it for only one location :?

Might be something to do with redirection .. although all I read says these keys aren't part of redirection.

I know thats what the ...\wow6432node\ stuff is...

Thank you very much for reporting this!

The issue consisted of the different bugs, these issues are now fixed:
Bug fix: Registry Finder's result list can contain duplicate lines.
Bug fix: Registry Finder doesn't always fully scan the 64 bit view of the registry.

These fixes will be included to the next released build of PowerTools 2011.
