What's up with the updates?

Post by Mauri » Wed Jan 22, 2020 7:52 pm

Checking for updates on start up I get this (see attachment please), but the update is nowhere to be found.
And, attempting to download build 438 from the link here I get, "This page could not be found!"

It's the newest version of jv16 PowerTools.
It can be downloaded from the new website.
You may not install it over an older version.

That is exactly correct.

What happened here is after having installed build 5.0.0.422 (Release Candidate 3), the application displayed the notification that a newer version was available (at the time of historic checking: 5.0.0.468, at the current time: 5.0.0.484), however, automatic updating did not function (intentionally so) at the time as a fresh install is required to get past 5.0.0.468 and above.

After having installed at the current time the latest version (5.0.0.484) from https://jv16powertools.com/download-starter/ then automatic updates will work normally and you will no longer have to worry about manual re-installation of the application once an updated, improved version is delivered.

We have also made an update to point all the old beta file links to the current official version, so you will not get the "not found" error again. Thank you for reporting this!
