Backup Tool – I am new to PT. I used Software Manager to remove a program after backing it up. From the Backup Tool I restored the program but it did not restore. I preformed the same drill with the Register Cleaner with the same results. What is the correct way to use Backup Tool “Restore”.

The backup tool restores registry entries backed up and removed by Software Manager (and other PT registry tools). It does not (and is not meant to) reinstall a program.

The best way to restore a program is to keep a copy of its installation package. A program install may affect other places than the registry and the target directory.
