In "Software Manager"( and other tools), what difference is there between "remove" and "custom remove"? I know it is in the manual, but I have my personal reasons for not downloading the manual which have no bearing on this question.
Also I have an entry that says Google as the "author", and NavClient as the "software" in the columns. I know what Google is, and even know NavClient is Norton-Symantec related. Yet since it said "No further Information is Available" and NA for both path and main exe; then I would assume it was a document that I had downloaded from Google regarding NavClient? Anyone have any ideas why this would be the only info given. It does not show in search of my PC on C drive (my only drive at this time till I add more drives). There never was any other drive on this PC but C. So ya think it just a broken path to a document? or??
I just was hit by a major Trojan, it had 8 major viruses, starting with naupoint installer, then a Netsky worm, then RDA.Fighter virus (ID'ed by eTrust version 7 AV and quarantined twice, but replicated to avoid quarantine, could not be fixed OR deleted once it avoided quarantine; installed 8 more viruses; it attacks CA products, and about 20 other brand name AV's and anti-spyware is attacked in some cases. It corrupted my StopZilla, probably because I was able to fight it off for a few days using StopZilla tools. But CA (computer associates) says it stops updater's and gives command lines to dismantle most anti-virus apps and anti-spyware apps. This is nasty, so an answer Re: Google and it's relation to NavClient suddenly appearing in the software line-up MUST BE RELATED!?!?. So ANY HELP : is appreciated(to an otherwise off-forum related problem, or benign question suddenly becomes very related to the topic and important to the forum for FYI reasons as well as personal use of jv16 2005) :
