The "Merge" function doesn't merge the split files as expected, it doesn't take in account the numbering of the files and the reconstructed file is not the same as the original in its contents (they're not in the same order)...

Well, I let File Tool split a file of 1.515.520 KB in five parts and then let the tool merge the five parts again ...

The reconstructed file was exactly identical to the original file. File CRC's were exactly identical.

Export as .reg file does not work . You are right! It creates a reg-file without useful content. Indeed only the header "Windows Registry Editor Version 5" for me (not "REGEDIT4" like for you).

Lashiec did a great job and ...

it's more comfortable for you (jv16) to have a report with alle the observations bundled, rather than to have to read dozens of observations made by the same person as different posts ...

So, I'm thinking that the users should be adviced to test a while and to wait a while and then bundle as many observations as possible in one post, rather than to make a.s.a.p. a post with one remark trying to be the first having found something or to be the one with the most posts with remarks (observations) ...

Anyway I prefer the way Lashiec has worked and I'll try to do the same for RC2 :

As I said earlier in some other thread, I think using both the category menu and the individual selection of tools would make the entire Show many far too complicated and confusing. Now everyone can figure what to menu does. Sure, it takes quite many clicks to configure the main screen the way you like but this isn't changed any more. I might re-think this with the next major new release.

Could you give me an example of such tool? All tools should stop the job they are working on when the Cancel or Close is clicked. However, due to the nature of some tools (e.g. Registry Cleaner) it will take a few seconds, even up to ten seconds, for the job to terminate after the tool has been closed.
