honk013 : That's why you always have to double check what you do when tampering around with your registry :) you still have to browse thru the list of possible (!!) not-needed registry-keys.
Since PowerTools backs everything up just nicely when working with the Registry Cleaner, nothing bad actually happened either ofcoz :) See it as a learning experience :)
to jv16 : I really have to give you respect.. I downloaded the 2005 .311 trial today, just as well as I did 24 other registry-utilities, since I had to thouroughly test these for a professional registry-roundup. I am about to put my findings in the requested rapport for the company I had to do this for.. and I can make you happy. Your registry cleaner was BY FAR the best tool cleaning-wise (tool in 2nd place - which I cannot disclose - left 24 more keys in.. PowerTools 2005 Registry Cleaner only missed 2(!!) in the testset).
I'm looking forward to the 2006 RC1 which I will give another test the moment it comes out and I truly hope you have the Registry Monitor up to par by then, just like the Registry Compact tool. Don't see this as criticism please - What I mean is, that the moment you get Monitor & Compact up to the same superb quality as your Cleaner - you'll have the number one Microsoft Windows Registry Toolset worldwide. No toolset would come close qualitywise.. without even going into all the nice extra's the toolset holds.
Sure.. some other tools can claim they are faster or use less memory, but when tampering with something fragile as the registry, it's just not about speed - there just cannot be anything else than quality. I'm sure my review will get you more customers soon - and well deserved!
Hell.. the moment I have to get a Windows box myself, I will absolutely buy myself a key :)
Respect!
